Rome, Italy is a city that requires the use of superlatives in its description. Western culture and history call this modern city home, as can be witnessed in the beautiful architecture, breathtaking collections of art and sculpture, and even in the stones beneath your feet. Rome is a place to feast the senses and inspire the spirit, and the Hotel Dei Mellini is the place to rest your head at the end of each memorable day. Located on the right bank of the Tiber River, calling the Spanish Steps and St. Peters Cathedral as close neighbors, guests are privy to vistas and access that few encounter in this legendary city. Opulent and comfortable, with modern amenities and an Art Deco décor, the Dei Mellini is your luxurious address in ancient Rome.

We are dual Italian/American citizens, and travel to Italy quite often. We have to pass through Rome in order to drive to our home, and we ALWAYS stay at Hotel Mellini. Without exaggeration, this hotel is among the best in Rome with regard to room quality related to price, and location. The rooms are always clean, the linens are soft (very important to my sensitive skin), and the beds are equipped with both feather and hypoallergenic pillows. Like with breakfast, there's something for everyone. The hotel is located in a residential area, but within walking distance (10-20 minutes) of all major tourist attractions. There are fantastic restaurants close-by, and great shopping. But the best part of staying at Hotel Mellini is the staff. Everybody from the bellmen to the desk staff to those at the restaurant and bar is extremely kind and helpful, and everybody loves our little dogs. Five stars isn't enough!

The hotel is well located and has a great structure, it is 15 minutes from Castel San Angelo, the Vatican and the Pantheon, what makes the hotel good are the staff who are very helpful, but what leaves something to be desired is the cleanliness in the rooms, there is a lot of dust under the bed and the duvets, despite being clean, have a lot of dust, the cleaning is done daily in the rooms but in this regard it needs to improve, I believe that by correcting this aspect the hotel can reach 5 stars

This was a lovely hotel. You are welcomed at the door and then reception are so friendly and helpful. The rooms are lovely and well stocked. The hotel is clean and centrally located. The breakfast has great hours from 6.30 am to 11 am. We also got great room service.

Very clean and friendly hotel in great location within walking distance of most sites. Good range of restaurants in the area. Breakfast very good and room very comfortable. We were on fifth floor which was very quite. We would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is really closer to "good" than "very good", but that's not an option on TA. However, it is an excellent value for it's location in the heart of Rome, which is why I opted for 4 stars. First of all, the interior of the hotel doesn't look nearly as nice in person as it does in the photos on the website. It's a little old and worn and the lobby is not spacious at all. Our room was large and quiet, and even had a large patio with table and chairs. However, the carpet was stained, the patio was covered with leaves and needed to be cleaned, and there didn't ever seem to be enough light in the room because no sun came in the window. There was a sofa, but no lamp so it was too dark to read. Also, there was a TV, but no Engish channels. On the positive side, it looked like the bathroom had been updated because it had plenty of room, good lighting and two sinks. The bed was comfortable, but possibly a little soft for some. The staff at the front desk was friendly, helpful and spoke good English. There was a small lobby bar where, one night, the bartendress was very generous in pouring drinks but, the next night, the bartender was very stingy. Both times we got complimentary snacks. The breakfast that was included with our room was a disaster. None of the tables had been cleaned when we got there around 9:00 and the food selection was small and uninviting. The second morning, we opted to go out to a nearby cafe instead.
