Rome, Italy is a city that requires the use of superlatives in its description. Western culture and history call this modern city home, as can be witnessed in the beautiful architecture, breathtaking collections of art and sculpture, and even in the stones beneath your feet. Rome is a place to feast the senses and inspire the spirit, and the Hotel Dei Mellini is the place to rest your head at the end of each memorable day. Located on the right bank of the Tiber River, calling the Spanish Steps and St. Peters Cathedral as close neighbors, guests are privy to vistas and access that few encounter in this legendary city. Opulent and comfortable, with modern amenities and an Art Deco décor, the Dei Mellini is your luxurious address in ancient Rome.

Beautifully clean hotel with exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are a good size, comfy bed, large window (which opens) with black out curtains. Ensuite bathroom with toiletries and a good shower. Breakfast is fresh and plentiful, with something for everyone. The area is lovely and quiet and easy walking distance to all of the main attractions. There are lots of good restaurants and shops nearby which we preferred to the more touristy ones across the river. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a base for sightseeing around beautiful Rome.

Just returned from 5 nights in Rome and can recommend the Hotel Dei Mellini, it’s in a great area so loads of lovely restaurants directly outside , 5 mins and your in Prati main shopping area, and about 15 mins walk to Spanish Steps. The hotel is quiet , very efficient rooms are lovely, well decorated and serviced every day, breakfast was brilliant good selection of hot and cold food, pastries, bacon sausages egg, fruit meats and cheese etc. We would definitely stay here again.

The pictures are deceiving. The hotel caters to alot of tour groups which creates alot of traffic. It is not well maintained. We had two different rooms and trust me, neither looked like the pictures. There is an odor of ammonia. We left a pair of shorts on the bed, not realizing it until we left Rome and were in Florence. We returned to Rome for last night (to a very dirty room, try and get one without carpet, the carpet is rather dirty) and no-one would help with locating the shorts. We Know we left on the bed. We are still emailing the hotel from the States without a response. One particularly unfriendly concierge staff member name is Patricio. He was beyond useless. Lacks personality and extremely uncaring individual. The continental breakfast is nothing more than packaged food (still in wrappers). If you want a pleasant experience, do not stay here. There are better properties in the area.

Lovely hotel, room ready early when we checked in. Staff so very helpful ( special mention to Silvia who assisted us when we had forgotten something whilst away on a trip) All of the hotel very clean and tidy. Good selection of food at buffet breakfast. Tea, coffee in room along with slippers and robes. Great location, approx 10-15 mins walk to the Vatican, same to the pantheon and approx 40 mins walk to the Colosseum. Couldn’t fault the hotel whatsoever, would wholeheartedly recommend.

Hotel Dei Mellini is a lovely hotel in the quieter part of Rome. It's about 10 minutes walk from Lepanto Metro station, 25minutes walk to the Vatican, but if you like walking the attractions are easy to walk to. If you need a taxi the reception will call one and they are quite quick to arrive and there are bus's nearby. All the staff were friendly & helpful. We had a lovely room with a very comfortable bed and pillows, a nice bathroom with a double sink, toiletries. The rooms have a minibar, kettle and tea & coffee and a free safe. Our room had a terrace but unfortunately no sun as its in the middle of buildings but would be great in the summer months. The only English channels were News. There is a lovely sun terrace on the 5th floor with tables & chairs, a swing seat and a couple of sunbeds which is lovely after walking all day. Theres a fridge with wine and you can choose a bottle and have it charged to your room. We didn't realise this and had already bought a bottle from a local supermarket. There is a small gym on the 5th floor too. There is lovely breakfast room, with a good selection of drinks & food. The staff were attentive. The hotel has a small bar near reception and prices competitive with outside. There a loads of lovely local restaurants around, I would recommend making reservations. Although a quiet area we felt very safe walking around at night and would recomend to my friends and definately return if in Rome again.
