From the day that I arrived, I have never felt so special. servers and service people at the resort. Mo the driver who picked me up at the airport and I hit it off. Talked all the way to the resort special man. Mary is a very special lady. We hit it off. Also, when we met she was there for everything I needed and so were the people who when I got lost showed me where to go. From a massage therapist, hands on therapy ,to the people at the desk they were wonderful. I could never imagine how I would be treated and taken care of, everybody knew my name recognized me by my cane and called me Sandy. I need to start saving for my next trip. You have to be so proud of the employees you have at this spa. again from the bottom of my heart, all I can say is thank you and God bless everyone here.

This place is beyond kitschy…seriously it looks like the decorating aesthetic was “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” gone horribly wrong….strange Greek theme, absurd paintings/frescoes, and with an overwhelming damp/stale odor throughout the property. The rooms are old, dated, and cramped with low ceilings and very little natural light. Things were clean enough and the location in downtown Safety Harbor was nice. However the whole place is a minimal step above a 1950s roadside motel and I definitely wouldn’t bother staying here again.

My wife and I just wrapped up our first weekly stay at Safety Harbor Resort. Most of the time, the reviews I write about hotels and condo rentals focus primarily on the personal living space. This one is a bit more complex because Safety Harbor Resort is much more than a living/sleeping space. First, the room. We rented our week stay through our travel club, which is supposed to be condo rentals, not hotel rooms. However, Safety Harbor Resort only has hotel rooms. However, they are fairly spacious. Like everything in the greater Tampa Bay area, the resort is recovering from 3 hurricanes that hit the area only a few months ago. The room we had was clean. The basic amenities one expects were all provided, including a mini fridge but not a microwave. The tv was big! Lots of channels. Lots! We opted out of housekeeping services, so cannot comment on that. When the heating system in our ceiling sprung a leak, they came promptly to fix it. However, when we called back (3 times) because it was only blowing cold air, no one came. We waited 2 days. They did charge us $25 per day for services we barely used, but I guess that is becoming the American way. Speaking of resort fees..... those fees include several spa amenities, such as three swimming pools, 2 whirlpools, a sauna, steam room, lockerroom, mens and womens lounges, grooming supplies (although the only grooming supplies I saw were Qtips, even though they boasted of having razors and more) Exercise classes, robes, etc. It also included internet, and free local calls (does snyone use hotel phones anymore??? The lobby area is beautiful as is the front of the building. The onsite restaurant (Fountain Grille) serves excellent food at reasonable prices and the decor is amazing. There is also a poolside tiki bar that we did not try. We did take advantage of the laundry facilities for a nominal fee. The grounds are beautiful, with access to the Tampa Bay and a huge bayside park. (It is beautiful) Valet and self parking are free. The location is wonderful. Right in the middle of downtown Safety Harbor, a quaint little town that we enjoyed very much. It is busy, but quiet, and there is plenty to do to keep busy. All in all, we LOVED our stay. The staff was all super friendly and helpful. The reasons I am rating this 4 stars instead of 5 are: 1. No one came to check the hvac blowing only cold air 2. Some parts of the resort are disgustingly filthy. I am including a picture of the door that goes from the mens lockerroom to the inside pool as an example. In fact, the filthiest part of the resort is the spa/pool/whitlpool areas. The grout is also in terrible need of a good cleaning. However, I am guessing some of it is due to the storm. But come on....filth is never acceptable, and those pool chairs....gross! All in all, a great stay. There are many great places to stay in the Tampa Area, but we would probably stay again.

Had both a massage and facial. OMG both were awesome. Very professional and accommodating staff. Beautiful spa and hotel. Highly recommend!! Only downside is that they are a little difficult to contact for the initial appointment and do not have an online booking.

The hotel is one hundred years old and has some history but don’t be discouraged. Great location and it has everything to make for a wonderful experience. The spa technicians give the most wonderful massages, mud and herbal wraps and facials. The facilities are complete with an aerobics room for classes, weight room and an equipment room, three pools, sauna, steam room and cold plunge. There is a full hair and nail salon, and boutique. The restaurant was outstanding and there’s even a TIKI bar by the outside pool. Very comfortable rooms. I felt very pampered and restored after spending 6 days taking advantage of many different spa treatments.
