Reviews for Safety Harbor Resort & Spa

Not worth the price!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The room was shabby and in need of repairs and renovation. I have stayed in far nicer rooms at much less expensive hotels. In order to get fresh towels and have the trash emptied, we had to call housekeeping by 10 a.m. or there was no service at all. The check in, parking and spa related staff were rude and not particularly helpful. (The restaurant staff was great.) I observed one guest being told he could have only two towels for the pool despite having four people in his party—he finally was able to find a staff person who would give him the towels. The location and setting were lovely, but I would not recommend the hotel. We booked through Hotels.com and I wonder if that influenced the room we were assigned.

Don’t go here. Surly personnel.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Entire facility needs major updating. Bathrooms are awful. Food is worse. Pool not clean. Hefty charge to park your car. Many empty tables in restaurant but told there was a 30 minute wait because they were shorthanded. Have nothing positive to say.

Run if you get Room 312

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Room 312 is the size of a phone booth. The HVAC sounds like a freight train, furnishings are ancient, bathroom space is minimal. Walks E paper thin and you can hear everything in the next room. Desk personnel were not helpful in changing rooms, getting the HVAC checked and a different mini fridge. Also didn’t care that the laundry machines weren’t working Room 312 should never be rented.

Grump staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

At $500 a night is it too much to ask for a pleasant staff who is happy that you’re there and treat you with dignity of respect? As we pulled up to the valet area I was rudely treated by the valet driver and told to drive around the block and he was too busy to park my car. The front desk felt like I was bothering them when I tried to check in and the bell service also gave similar vibes finally when we arrived for breakfast at 10:50 in the morning. We were told that our prepaid breakfast wouldn’t be permitted because the kitchen was closing to prepare for lunch. What a shame that’s such a beautiful location with such a great history has to be ruined by grumpy staff.

Awful value , ready for upgrade terrible service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Very poor quality for the price. Room was basic and paid 400+per night. Temp was not Easily controlled and fan very noisy. Bathroom ready for upgrade , wood moldy and rotten by tub. So noisy from band downstairs, called the front desk , not apologetic , said to discuss with manager in morning. Good grief what a scam for The price. Caters to weddings , parties and high volume groups with $$ from venue charges and alcohol. Don’t mind paying high $ for Luxury and service , spa didn’t meet either
