We had been here a while ago for afternoon tea and enjoyed it so much that we decided to go again but what a disappointment. The sandwiches were not as fresh as they should have been, basic type bread, very sparsely filled with very, very, ordinary fillings, the "sausage roll" was strange, the scones were lovely, clotted cream and jam etc but the cakes were so sickly sweet and had been lying around for some time so were very stodgy and sticky. Service was impeccable, staff were most helpful and kind but the food was such a big let down. We will not be back and it is not worth £40 each for what was really a very ordinary and not great afternoon tea experience.

Whole experience was perfect. It was the wife’s birthday and the attention to detail was unbelievable. Check in was seamless, beautiful room overlooking the old course, road hole bar for some cocktails, then to Swilicn loft for an amazing meal with a view to die for! Big thank you to everyone, we had the best time ! ❤️

Afternoon tea was awful! Sandwiches were stale and curled up! Cakes were sickly sweet. The scone was fine as was the sausage roll. We had to chase down a server to get more tea as well. I wouldn't go save your money and have lunch elsewhere. Room was also shabby. Worn carpet and chairs

Booked a high tea that overlooked the 17th & 18th green at the R & A. The restaurant was on a high floor so the course, the sea, so beautiful! The view, the service, the food, ALL were excellent. When they bring you high tea, sandwiches are plated and the tiers of scones and sweet treats are suspended birdcage like next to you on a hanging wrought iron display. SO unique in presentation for sure. ALL were absolutely delicious! This entire experience was notable and would definitely do this again if the opportunity arose. Kudos!

My husband and I stayed at the Old Course Hotel in St. Andrew’s, Scotland and had a wonderful stay during a golfing trip to Scotland, made all the more memorable by this lovely hotel. The hotel is elegant and graceful, and the rooms are well appointed with a very comfortable bed, pillows, and a luxurious bathroom. Breakfast is filled with wonderful options and is in the restaurant that overlooks The Old Course. While staying there, I enjoyed the fabulous spa and had one of the best treatments I’ve had in a long time. We enjoyed how each of the rooms is named after a golfer who won the British Open and walking down the hallway is an experience in golfing history that tickled us every time we went to our room. The staff at the hotel are gracious and welcoming, friendly and warm. Golfers going out early in the morning, even have an option of some Items that they can pick up for a quick breakfast as this hotel thinks about their guests and their needs. We could not have had a better say and enjoyed a hotel more than we did here. The only thing I can comment on that I thought was a bit odd were the two upholstered chairs in our hotel room, which were quite firm and felt like sitting on wood. However, that was a very small and inconsequential part of our visit and we would gladly go and stay again.
