Had a very gapped stay here over New Year. Very impressed with location of the hotel and the warmth of the staff. Room was excellent with a view over the old course to the sea. Food was good. Only downside was that the hotel was very busy over Old Years night and the hotel struggled to cope with the numbers. we will return.

This is our second year enjoying the Old Courses Hogmanay Celebrations and we weren’t disappointed! From start to finish it was absolutely perfect, the champagne reception and hot chocolate stand along with the bag piper was an incredible welcome! They had a saxophone player along with the DJ we honestly could’ve danced for hours! The fireworks at The Bells were amazing and then the spa in the morning was the perfect tonic to start 2025! We have booked again to come back next year! Amazing hotel and I want to give the biggest compliment to each and every one of the staff members- OUTSTANDING!!! You all were so super helpful and friendly one of the main reasons we love The Old Course!! Cannot wait to come back again.

Very disappointing New Years Eve experience. No where near as good as previous years when held in the ballroom with dancing. Indifferent menu minuscule cremated steak scimpy side dish no entertainment to speak of cramped into Swilkum loft. Had to return to room to get view of fireworks so not getting any party atmosphere which is what we were looking for will be celebrating elsewhere next year.

Having been to the fabulous Gleneagles a number of times, we looked to book somewhere a bit different for our annual luxury weekend away. We were about to book the Old Course only to discover the £500+ per night price tag does not even give you access to the 'adult only' pool without extra charge!! So what would undoubtedly be heading towards a £1500 weekend stay by the time drinks and meals are included, then incurs an extra charge to use the adult only pool. No thanks! No such extra charges at Gleneagles. Very 'Ryanair' and not very classy. Needless to say the Old Course is off our list and won't be featuring on it again. We work hard for our one weekend away as a couple and I'm prepared to spend to treat ourselves. I'm not prepared to be ripped off though. Whoever heard of a 5-star charging extra to use a pool!

Love this place, been going nearly every year for over 30 years. The staff are fantastic, welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Sadly this will probably be our last visit. We booked the Swilcan Loft for dinner. We paid over £20 for a small glass of wine. Also a supplement of £25 for a steak without any sides! I’m sorry but enough is enough.
