The dignified, turreted Rufflet's Country House Hotel is one of the oldest established country manor hotels in Scotland. This member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World is set in 10 acres of award-winning gardens just a mile west of St. Andrews and has been awarded 5 Stars by the Scottish Tourist Board. The main house and two separate lodges offer exquisite guestrooms and suites, all furnished with a tasteful blend of contemporary and antique styles. Fresh local produce and prime Scottish beef highlight fine dining at the Garden Restaurant, recipient of a much-coveted two AA Rosettes.

The hotel is located outside St Andrews only a short distance away and in the country side. The room was fine, nice size and comfortable on the first floor overlooking the garden and the breakfast perfect. we had a pleasantapero on the terras and enjoyed the views on the beautiful garden

Great location, relaxed atmosphere, lovely grounds and staff friendly and helpful. Within easy reach of St Andrews which is a vibrant town with lots to see and do. Nice restaurants and bars to visit. Great for a short getaway.

Have been to Rufflets several times in the past to dine and had always been impressed and enjoyed dining there. We booked without hesitation a celebration stay and dine for ourselves and 2 other couples. Unfortunately we found nothing to be impressed about this time. We arrived and had to call and then wait for someone to come to the front desk. The rooms although clean and spacious they were very hot even with the radiators turned down and the windows open. There was only a very strange Tasting Menu on offer with little choice. 1 course being cold mushrooms on a tasteless savoury custard and another was bread with butter in a stock!!!! Staff were friendly but few and far between therefore we had to wait a time for all 6 of us to receive a course - so the first to be served had luke warm food. We had to ask 3 times for water glasses to be refilled. Not impressed

Beautiful country house with some short comings. Expensive for what is is although if you want to relax in a nice setting then it’s ideal.
