We booked a night with Dinner Bed and Breakfast. The experience from start to finish was first class. The food was delicious and very well presented. The room was big with plenty of storage space. Could have benefited from a fridge and the TV was old and unable to use the internet or casting. Needs upgraded. These small points did not detract from the overall stay. The staff are all very capable and friendly. Because g shout out to the barman and the waiting staff. This is our 3rd visit and can’t wait until we are back again.

Everything was generally ok. Room was a nice size and bathroom great. No dinner was offered due to a wedding and we were not told about this beforehand. We were told to go into town to get dinner, we spent ages trying to find a restaurant that was not already fully booked. Breakfast was poor, hardly anything offered, nor available, and we had to ask for butter and there was no jam. The hotel is old style and in need of some tlc in places, the outside area is quite unkempt but maybe due to building work going on. As said, it is ok, but it is not somewhere we would return to for a few reasons , especially as the cost was similar to a room at the 5star hotel in town.

Beautiful rooms overlooking gorgeous gardens. Lovely area to walk around and enjoy the beauty in nature. Great for Scottish breakfast and wonderful evening dining. The homemade shortbread was amazing. Courteous, friendly, and very helpful staff.

We came to Rufflets as a treat as it was both our 40th birthdays and our 10 year wedding anniversary recently. It’s just outside town and five minutes from the free parking. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds that are lovely to work around and very tranquil. All the staff were lovely from the moment we got there, during breakfast, returning from our trips into town and when we left. Every interaction with them was great and nothing was too much. Possibly the best hotel staff I’ve EVER met, you all seem to love your jobs. We only had breakfast at the hotel as we knew St Andrews well and had places we wanted to visit or try. The cooked breakfast was the BEST cooked breakfast I’ve ever had. Nothing was over or undercooked or over/under seasoned. The room was beautiful as was the bathroom. We had room 30 so had the upstairs to ourselves with lovely views over the front of the hotel. This was an upgrade as we were celebrating a few special occasions between the two of us and the first time we’ve ever had any sort of upgrade ever. I’d highly recommend this hotel and we plan to come back again next year. Thank you Rufflets for making our combined celebrations so lovely.

I have been before and liked it enough to go back. The room seemed fine -view to the side garden and lovely big shower. We were very aware of our loud neighbours through the wall before dinner. Through the night we heard loud “goings-on” including hitting the wall, etc and lots of noisy chat before and after. Very early the night porter came and knocked loudly on the door. I was exhausted with lack of sleep. The floors are all very creaky and the walls seemed paper-thin. It’s a newer part of the building, so not sure why they are so creaky. Do not want room 36!
