The hotel is in a great location, close to the airport, high above a beautiful beach. There’s a lovely walk through gardens to reach the beach where there is plenty of (slightly old and uncomfortable) Sun-beds and shade serviced by the beach cabana. The sea was quite choppy whilst we were there making swimming rather challenging. The beach is not private which attracted groups of teenagers at the weekend playing loud music at times. The hotel pool was pretty cramped inside the hotel”s public space and was quite deep without a shallow end which if you weren’t a confident swimmer might be off-putting and certainly not ideal for children. The Friday beach bonfire was a real highlight with a live band which attracted hotel and non-hotel residents. On other nights, dinners in the hotel were quiet affairs occasionally with a live musician. The food was mostly good. There is also a well stocked supermarket 15 minutes walk away. We stayed in a Cinnamon Suite which had a good view, however would have been better on the first floor where we were meant to be staying. Unfortunately when we arrived the whole island had no internet service so there was some confusion with our room which had been switched to other guests which we walked into as they were getting dressed! Somewhat embarrassing! Our welcome and reference to our 25th wedding anniversary was completely lost in the mix-up which was disappointing as I’d made a special effort to contact the hotel in advance to inform them of our special celebration. Taxis were good value but there is little obvious public transport. Overall it was a good experience.

We stayed in one of the villas up on the hill behind the main building. When we walked out on the terrace for the first time we were amazed that the view was just like the photos. The resort was built around 50 years ago and is kept up to date well by the staff. One advantage of the long history is that there are beautifully maintained large, mature tropical plants throughout the property which would be impossible in newer-built resorts. It seems like a weird thing to say, but the walls and fixtures and surfaces all felt solid and satisfying in a way that newer, cheaper construction doesn't allow. It was like staying in your rich friend's island compound. We were there for 5 days as a family of four and kind of worked our way through the breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus and everything was good with enough familiar stuff and interesting local new stuff to keep us happy. They seem to have one set of staff working the food service which does the Flying Fish restaurant at breakfast, then transitions to the Beach Cabana for lunch, and then transitions back up the hill to the Flying Fish for dinner. So there are those transition times when food service isn't available, but drinks are always available, and if you're dining at "normal" times you won't even notice. Prices at the restaurants were similar to US restaurant prices which felt extremely fair since I assume many ingredients are expensive on a small island. Something to be aware of is that the walk back up to the villas from the beach or restaurant is steep so you get a workout after meals or coming from the beach. This was nice for us, but if someone had more limited mobility they would want to use the free on-site shuttles more often. We felt like the extra exercise was good for us after eating/drinking, but used the shuttles to help move our luggage for sure. The beach is amazing. A long beautiful stretch of soft sand with clear warm water in front of it. Chairs, umbrellas and tables were always set up and always available. No need to try to run down to reserve anything in the morning. They have free snorkels/masks, paddleboards, boogie boards, kids sand toys, towels, and even a catamaran all at the beach guests can ask to use. When snorkeling right off the beach we were able to see a bunch of chromis, sergeant majors, tangs, chub, and other reef fishes. Dive Grenada is literally the next thing down on the Mt Cinnamon beach as well, so it's easy to book an outing and go out for some scuba or snorkeling. Walk right down the road and left at the police station and in about 10 minutes you will get to a pretty big shopping mall that has a couple of banks with ATMs and a grocery store, and a few places selling touristy stuff for Grenada that is nicer than what you'd see at the airport. Our kids enjoyed the grocery store for all of the new flavors of soda. One tip is that if you're going to be there on a Wednesday evening, make an 8pm reservation at the Dodgy Dock for their street food night well in advance, a couple of weeks before you're planning to be there. The front desk can help with taxi service to get there and maybe with the reservation. It will be crowded with music and cheap drinks and tons of choices for local food and having a reservation gets your name at a table with a guaranteed seat. No reservation is still fun. This review is already too long, but we really can't say anything negative about Mount Cinnamon. Every person we interacted with was friendly and helpful. Laura, the manager, was there as we arrived and throughout the week to let us know how things worked, which we appreciated very much.

Went for a day pass with kids and the staff was absolutely amazing, welcoming and accommodating. We experienced a 3 course cooking demo with the chef and the food was delicious. We participated in pilates and kayaking - very relaxing day. We all had a great time!

My favorite place in the world. We've been here three times and plan to be back many times more. Luxurious rooms, perfect location, and the friendliest staff. Unlike other "beach resorts" Mount Cinnamon has both character and class. Stay as long as you can!

Gorgeous boutique hotel with individuality and character. Beach was stunning. The sea could be rough at the entry point but there was no undertow or current after the first bit- could be difficult to get into if you have mobility problems. I was carrying a painful Achilles heel injury and still found this ok with practise. Similarly, although there are steep hills around I found the walk back to the hotel and our Hacienda suite totally fine - broken up between short slopes and a few steps. I didn't call on the shuttle service at all despite stressing about this aspect before we arrived. Grand Anse was always windy but that helped to cool off and BBC beach was calmer and a pleasant 5 minute walk away- and similarly beautiful. There were minimal sellers on the beaches and they were friendly, polite and easy to move along. Grenada was lovely - full of beautiful flowers, pretty houses, tropical scenery and friendly people. We felt safe at all times. The hotel staff were excellent. Again, they felt individual (as well as friendly and efficient) and we looked forward to our daily interactions with each of them. The Manageress was notably fabulous - hardworking, friendly and very visible. She seemed to lead by example and to run a happy team. We enjoyed all the food on our half board package and appreciated the efforts most nights to add in specials like taco night/ Italian night etc. The BBQ night on Friday was great. Singers and piano player appreciated during dinner too. I really liked the pool as it was very deep and always very quiet. Big enough for a good swim. Loved the Hacienda suite. It was huge, bed and pillows were super comfy, air con was efficient and quiet and you could really get used to the 2 bathroom situation. Missing it already!

“Mount Cinnamon located in St.Georges, Grenada is a lovely & charming hillside property with magnificent views of turquoise water and ivory sand. The most picturesque harbor is the daily backdrop. Staffed with attentive and friendly folks that seem more like family then employees. The villas are tastefully decorated and roomy. The food was scrumptious! The only down side - because of the hillside location - it is ideal to be in good physical shape. For us, we used the "climb" to our room as our excuse for not using the gym!"
