Pretty good.

We used to always stay here. But our last couple stops have us going past it. The perfume they now pump into the lobby is unbearable. Rooms aren't as quite as clean as they used to be, etc. I'm always kinda annoyed there isn't tea or coffee in the room...they send it up to you if requested which might cost ? (not sure) but it takes awhile and after a long trip you just want a hot tea. Valet parking is kinda pricey and if you have a truck it now cost more! It's a lame money grab because they park all the vehicles together! The staff is always lovely to interact with and it's still a good hotel in a good location but I hope they can make it like it used to be and keep it maintained.

Fabulous

The service was fabulous and staff very accomodating, its was such a relief that my pet can come and they had a pet bed waiting for him when I got there! I will return to hotel again and again, the size of this hotel was also perfect. I love the boutique hotels instead of the big box hotels the service was extraordinary!

Bartender runs the hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Hotel was nice, front desk staff was great. Friends and I stayed there and went to a hockey game. After the game we returned to the hotel for drink and food at the hotel bar. It was 10:10pm, the bar closes at 11pm. The door to the bar was locked, 2 employees were cleaning up and never acknowledged us. We asked a passing employee why the bar was closed. She said the bartender wanted to go home. It was 18 degrees outside and we didn’t want to venture out. If you want to enjoy the hotels bar or restaurant, just know that the bartender dictates when they close, not what their posted closing times state. Kimpton send me a review and asked if I’d like to be contacted, I said yes please, no one ever reached out to me. If there’s another nice hotel downtown, don’t stay at the Monaco.

Couldn’t ask for better

The entire hotel staff members were inviting and friendly. All of the spaces were thoughtfully decorated and clean. I was there before Christmas and got to enjoy the beautiful decor and Christmas music. The complimentary hot chocolate was a nice touch too. The best part was probably the bed which was like a much needed hug! I also enjoyed lunch in the restaurant and room service, and a beverage at the bar. (The burger was my favorite meal of the weekend!) This was my first time in SLC and it was a perfect stay. Perfect location for venturing out as well.

Our Go To hotel in SLC

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We stayed at Kimpton SLC two times on our latest road trip. The hotel is gorgeous, beautifully designed inside a historic building. They’ve kept a lot of charm while being modern and design forward. The rooms we had were quite spacious with a fair amount of floor space. The bathrooms aren’t huge but worked for us - the queen double had a tub bathroom, the king suite a large walk in shower. Pet friendly of course, they supplied dog bowls and a bed. Gym is small but up to date with treadmills, an elliptical, two pelotons and one of those electronic wall mounted workout thingeys. The Vault has great food and drinks (burgers are fantastic) since it’s a bar we got our kid’s burger to go and they happily ate in the room. We also tried Bambara which was lovely upscale dining. Breakfast is also at Bambara - a bit more pricey and upscale than we needed but delicious. The lobby has complimentary coffee in the morning which is always appreciated. Will be our go to SLC hotel
