Little America Hotel

My fiancée and I stayed at The Little America for the Dragonsteel convention. I could write about how beautiful the hotel was and how comfortable our room was, the quality of the pool and hot tubs; but the real impact came from the bartender Peter. He was knowledgeable about the city informing us about free public transportation to the Salt Place convention. Telling us about the development of the city. Peter was so knowledgeable about his craft, serving my fiancée an old fashioned that he used ginger soda for instead of simple syrup and explaining in detail the reason for the substitution let me tell you it was a knockout! He served me a beer from a local brewery and he gave me a lemon with it and explained my first three drinks step by step and it really brought out the flavors. Finally on our last night there we were talking to another patron and Peter overheard me tell her that it was my fiancées birthday. Without a word he snuck into the kitchen and brought out a slice of cake and a candle. I’m not sure if any of the hotel staff reads these but Peter really did make our stay so enjoyable!

Little America Hotel is class, timeless Beauty and tradition! We love staying at this Beautiful hotel. It is our most favorite place to stay in SLC! They offer exceptionally clean room, luxurious bedding for a restful nights sleep, friendly and professional staff, outstanding food and a variety of amenities! We also love visiting Grand America and seeing the Amazing Christmas windows and gingerbread house! We enjoy shopping and supporting local businesses downtown including the vending machine to help those in need around the world during this season, called “Light the World!”

The beds and pillows are still as comfy as when we stayed here 8 years ago, BUT they now charge $18 to park your car in their gated parking lots overnight! DO NOT get the outside rooms if you can help it. We had an upstairs, corner room, and we could here traffic all night long. The hotel lobby is beautiful. The drinks in the hotel bar are ridiculously expensive and the bartender wasn't very friendly.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights on our way back home to CA. We stayed in a first floor room in the garden area outside the main lobby/tower. The room was OK except the bathroom/shower. There was no vent fan and the shower faucets were not operating properly and needed maintenance. There was no towel hanger in the bathroom. The room was located next to the street and in the middle of the night noticeable noise could be heard from the street e.g. people yelling in the and fighting etc. Also the main lobby/tower had a noticeable undesirable odor every time we went there throughout our stay. We did mention it to the staff but we got no explanation. This is definitely an old facility which has been partially renovated and still requires more work. While we had an OK stay, I would not rate this hotel a four star one based on our stay.

The hotel is very nice and very well appointed. The hotel has many great facilities and offerings. The location is perfect. There is a street car stop nearby that will take you anywhere you need to go. I would certainly choose this hotel again.
