It must have been quite something when it was new, but has not been properly maintained or updated - shonky lifts, tired and rather scruffy decor. It still makes an impression and the very large rooms have comfortable beds with good bedlinen. Showers are separate, walk-in ones, which is good, but the shower-head is not adjustable and the water was never really hot. I had to change room after the first night because the blackout curtain wouldn't close and needed maintenance the following night because the downlights over the bed were still flickering, even when supposedly switched off. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful, but the breakfast staff were not... Breakfast was a major bugbear - the head waiter was hostile and verging on rude; it was supposed to start at 06:00 but never did - the last morning they were still putting food out for the buffet at 06:30, which is when I need to leave. It's expensive, the hot food is unlabelled so you take a chance on what you get and "hot" might mean stone cold. Completely unacceptable. Would I return? Definitely not

Beautiful construction - lousy operation! We reserved 5 rooms for a wedding for two nights. Last minute, two couples canceled for the first night, the hotel said - no refund! Ok, accepted since it was last minute. The next day, the late comers arrived and were told they had to pay a "penalty for no show"! I had to go and protest in person for the receptionist to back off (I had paid the five rooms for the two nights, so what additional penalty?). Next thing: starting at 9 am, drilling with a power tool in what seemed to be the adjacent room. Why remodel on a Saturday when your hotel is full because of two weddings instead of doing it some day during lower occupation? How can you occupy and charge full rate for a room adjacent to a very noisy remodeling? Reports and complaints had no effect! Bad operation at this hotel! Disappointing for what is usually a great hotel chain with beautiful installations....

The staff is not helpful when I tried to change my dates even. Additionally, the rooms are outdated for the price you pay. The location is not close to the downtown and it’s worth it to stay closer to stay in another hotel closer to downtown to be closer to better restaurants.

Excellent service and food! The dinner and wine were amazing! 🤩 It is a good place for go with friends and of course with a date You spent a good night eating good food, talking and drinking; while the music is playing. I will be back, I’m ready for the next one.

Great value, beautiful garden, clean spacious rooms and great service. Also a convenient location. Hotel restaurant food was better than average but the Sunday brunch was amazing. Including the great live music!
