Located in the heart of Salzburg, the Hotel Sacher Salzburg extends along the river Salzach, offering the most stunning views over the old-town, the river and the mountains. Fell in love with the Sacher Salzburg ... the Staff, the service, the food, the bar ambiance, but most of all their hospitality is unsurpassed. A true 5 stars the old-fashioned way, Best 5 stars experience we ever had.!!!! We loved it so much we extended our stay. Beautiful rooms, gorgeous views of the town. Can't wait to go back!

Thank you Hotel Sacher Salzburg for such a wonderful stay in every way! My hotel check-in was the best experience I have ever had in my many years of travel. Such attention to detial and personalized service. My room was just lovely with a wonderful personalized note left, a welcome treats tray--including the famous Sacher Torte-- and free mini bar drinks. It also had a beautiful balcony overlooking the river and old town. We dined in the hotel restaurant, cafe, and had drinks at the bar. The experience at all three of these hotel establishments was superb. Should I return to Salzburg, I will definitely return to Hotel Sacher!

I visited the Hotel Sacher to stay on a weekend break to Salzburg in mid-March with my partner. From what we had read beforehand, the hotel prides itself on providing excellent service and good quality accommodation and it certainly delivered and exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived we really felt the excellent hospitality. Our bags were whisked away by the porter and we were delighted to learn our room had been upgraded. We were given a brief tour of the hotel and room and then left to settle in. Shortly after, a lovely package arrived with fresh fruit and cakes which were delicious. We requested a couple of amenities (we had forgotten toothpaste…) which were brought to us very quickly. We ate in the ‘traditional’ restaurant on the first night and had the tasting menu which was delicious. Service was a little slow, but this is typical of tasting menus and we were grateful to have a break between courses. The bar area was comfortable and decorated nicely, with delicious cocktails and complementary snacks provided. The only slightly weird thing was they were playing some Spanish instrumental music in there which seemed at odds with the traditional Austrian decor and vibe of the place! My only negative with the room was it was slightly stuffy - the air conditioning didn’t work very well and we had to have the balcony door open for air (but then close it at night since there was a bit of noise from passers by). Given we visited in March and nights were relatively cool this wasn’t a major issue so I didn’t mention it to the hotel (I’m sure if I had done they would have helped very promptly so no complaints from me), but I’m not sure it would have coped too well in the summer. Lastly, the location was exceptional. We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to see, and the views from our room across the river were lovely. I really felt the luxurious experience and hospitality that the hotel prides itself on and would recommend to friends and family visiting Salzburg.

The Sacher is quintessentially Austrian elegance. The hotel and its rooms are beautiful. The amenities are excellent and the position close to the river and the old town are easy walk in all directions. The staff are very professional and the service was friendly and helpful all times. We were offered an upgraded room which was facing the river and was very well appointed. The bed was comfortable. The restaurants are wonderful in the hotel with many to choose from and of course you can purchase Sacher Torte in take home boxes or to eat straight away. The only negative was the difficulty of arriving by car, as there is no place to pull up or park in front of or behind the hotel. Loved the Sacher and would return any time.

A lovely historic grand hotel with a fabulous location on the river and overlooking the Old Town including Fort Hohensalzburg and all the cathedrals. Very helpful and courteous staff and several restaurants including a nice bar. The five star place to stay in Salzburg.
