Went here through Amex FHR and disappointed given certain expectations. Pros: Beautiful decor and great location. It's at a part of the Riverwalk which is much more quite and serene which is a plus. Close to musuems, across from Tobin center. Place is quiet. Room was very clean and had fun amenities. Gym was adequate. Pool was fine though didn't go swimming. Cons: Bed and room were clean but I felt like I was sleeping on a major waterproof barrier and it felt squeaky like I was slipping on something all night. Bathroom could use a fan (you can see the dampness on the walls), a dimmer switch so you don't wake others in the room when you're there in the middle of the night (door lets light through as well). Housekeeping came quite late - close to 3PM and we had already done our activites for the day and thus declined. The biggest let down was the restaurant Landrace with lackluster service for breakfast (2 times no spoon with coffee), nothing on the menu towards local or organically driven ingredients. And really nothing special about the meals (had dinner there once as well - that server was wonderful).

Upscale hotel on the North Riverwalk. Really good location -- not too close to the over-commercialized main Riverwalk, but close enough to everything you might want to do near downtown. The Pullman Market and the Pearl District are a walkable distance from the hotel along the North Riverwalk -- a huge plus. Staff were friendly. Overall a very pleasant stay.

Delicious low sugar mocktails for sober students, designated drivers, and diabetic dancers! The Thompson in San Antonio has elegance and style with two restaurants and bars. Perfect for after work drinks and dinner! #gourmet #sanantonio
