I like to stay at Marriott so I stopped in this place for a drink. After ordering a drink the bartender Rooster suggested a dinner option. The meal was satisfying and filling. The drink menu was intriguing, so I decided to try a couple offerings. Long story short, I cancelled my previous hotel booking and booked a room here at the Alma. Great experience at the bar, let’s see how the hotel sleeps!?!

I had the pleasure of being served by Rooster and was genuinely impressed from the moment I sat down, he was attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Whether it was a classic cocktail or a custom creation, every drink was perfectly balanced and beautifully presented.

Just finished seven nights at Alma and would definitely go back. The staff were all great and the location was wonderful. I never felt unsafe at in the area around the hotel, even walking home after Padres night games with my eight year-old. Only thing I would change is expand the lunch menu at the cafe a bit; but overall no complaints.

Alma is a beautiful hotel that captures the Mexican influence of the area beautifully giving it a true sense of place. I would have thought I was staying at a boutique hotel! I was here on business and enjoyed the most delicious meals in between meetings, provided by the kind and attentive hotel staff. My room was wonderfully decorated and overlooked downtown. My room was also equipped with a comfy robe with Spanish flair which I thought was a nice touch. My morning latte and evening cocktails from the lobby bar were well crafted. And the second level of the lobby offered a wide range of seating to get some work done in a great environment. All around I very much enjoyed my stay and will be returning soon!

Rooster is the best bartender I’ve probably ever had. Dude made the best drinks we’ve probably ever had. His customer service was superb. His patience was great and he took care of me and all six of my buddies the entire day. I plan on coming back here every time as we all come here for work every 5 weeks .
