Beautiful
This place is amazing! The staff is phenomenal and really care about their guests. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was exceptionally clean! The restaurants are next on my list to do when I go back. This is really a fantastic hotel from start to finish. I can’t wait to go back!l

Incredible experience
A serene setting with a modern rustic design, lush greenery, and an incredible garden. We enjoyed the attentive service, exceptional cuisine, creative cocktail (very artful menu!) and red wine gem at Avant. The next morning, had a nutritious, delicious breakfast at sunny Varanda. Outstanding hospitality at every step!

Lovely grounds, but needs updating
Lovely setting and grounds, but the rooms smelled musty, and the hotel could use updating. The check-in experience at the spa was a little disappointing as it was in their retail shop. The spa services were outstanding, though.

So much going for it, but the room is not good
Beautiful grounds and amazing staff, but my room was very dated and it SMELLED SO BAD of mildew. I was in the Poolside section. I spoke with others who also had rooms here for the same event, and they said their rooms also smelled of mildew. The signage is very poor as well. It's so unfortunate because it's a stunning property with really caring and professional employees, but some investment needs to be made.

Rancho Bernardo is one of the most enchanting inns in the U.S. The fountains are well worth the attention they command in artwork. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable beyond belief. Absolutely love this piece of heaven.
