Dirty and old

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

This place was horrible. My room upon check in had pee on the seat, Cheetos under the bed and dirty towels. The room they moved me to also had hair all over the floor. Not good

Perfect staycation for New Year’s Eve

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Cannot recommend this resort more! Its staff are amazing and the resort grounds are so beautifully manicured we felt like we were in Italy. The food in the restaurants were delicious and we felt so taken care of there. We stayed for New Year’s Eve and felt like it was a very romantic getaway. There are so many activities to do and just walking the grounds was so much fun. Can’t wait to return!

Classic and Gorgeous

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

A wonderful solo stay at an historical classic resort! On a trip to the Breeders Cup 2024 at Del Mar, I decided to stay here prior. I am so glad I did! I stayed mid-week for two days and cannot say enough about this gracious old-world resort! I do not golf but nary saw a golfer. I stayed in Vista on the ground floor with a lovely private patio to read on. It was dead quiet at night and kudos to Joel for friendly and fast room service! The Spa is fantastic. Top notch highly experienced staff. Nail treatment was long lasting and professionally and meticulously done. Massage was superb. Facial was tops! But the real draw is the environment of place: a horticultural phenomenon- so breathtakingly beautiful! The spa pool was quiet at mid week, and they have a beautiful outdoor jacuzzi that is really well maintained and gorgeously designed. It is an excellent private getaway that I will not forget and will have me returning next year. On a final note, Veranda, their casual restaurant is fantastic and the view from the patio where I ate dinner was lovely. Service was friendly, unpresumptuous, and professional. It was pricey but worth every penny if you want the classic self-care splurge!

Like a rose - beautiful but a few thorns

Return visit to the Inn. We love the quiet elegance, especially when decorated for the Christmas season. PLEASE add a sign for golf bag drop off. We had to carry our golf bags through the lobby down stairs to the golf shop. The valet person never offered to help, and watched us struggle with our bags. Also, no mention when checking in that the AVANT restaurant was closed for renovations. Lastly, no mention at check in that their is a reciprocal relationship with swim club down the street that pickleball is available complimentary, since tennis court and Pickelball court on property is no longer useable due to proximity to the spa.

Best place to relax with family in Southern California

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We had a year-end trip with 3 kids and celebrated son’s birthday. We tried golf for the first time with a group lesson with Jay Jones. She was well prepared and able to engage kids from 10-15 and adults. I would highly recommend Jay who is so kid friendly:). The kids want to play some more afterwards and we went back to complimentary driving range every day. We got connecting rooms with a nice view of the golf course. Room is spacious and beds are comfortable. Txt messaging with service team works really well and received quick response. The hotel grounds were well maintained with very nice plants and culinary garden. We will come back for family get away trip!

Rancho Bernardo is one of the most enchanting inns in the U.S. The fountains are well worth the attention they command in artwork. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable beyond belief. Absolutely love this piece of heaven.
