Fantastic Staff

Sarah and Monica at the front desk were amazing! Not only were they kind and caring but they were also so helpful in getting me checked in early so that I would be able to surprise my friend and decorate the room for her surprise birthday! The experience from the start has been amazing and the hotel is beautiful too. Looking forward to the rest of our stay! I’d recommend this hotel anytime!

Impressed with David

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This hotel is beautiful: the outside courtyard, inside lobby, room, etc Every employee we encountered was polite and helpful but especially David. We happened to be in town during the Anti Trump/Musk demonstration and really right smack in the middle of it. David confirmed how to safely travel about. He also did a wonderful job politely manning the entry doors and keeping everything ok for guests. Polite, friendly, professional… thank you David.

The good: Room was clean. Bed and sheets were decent. Pool was nice. (Butt see note below) Interesting Lobby décor. The evening room service delivery man was super nice he should be promoted to front desk manager. Convenient downtown location. Not so good: Little and not long lasting hot water. Entire front desk staff on arrival acted as if I was impeding on their day, I was literally sneered at by the 3 clerks that were there. They were not able to check my in early. 1:00 PM . Ok fair enough. I asked If I could use the pool in the meantime they said yes but you have to go over to that other building next door tell them you are waiting to check in and they will let you in. I asked If I could change in the bathroom in the lobby and just go up through the hotel like you know a paying guest and they snarled no because you don't have a room key yet and you need that to get into the pool. So I asked if I could have a key temporarily and again a snarky no. Asked for a manger who reluctantly gave me a temp key to get in. Jeesh! Then I had a package pre delivered so I asked if it arrived and another sneering clerk says to me "let me look". She comes back with the package and shoves a clip board in front of me an says sign here to prove you got it. I sign then realize I don't want to carry it around with me while I wait for my room and could she hold it until then. Well you would think I was asking her to move a mountain she sighed loudly gave me the stink eye and said you already signed for it we could be liable now if something happens to it. She finally agreed to hold it for a bit but yikes lady. The next morning I went to use the lap pool. There are 3 roped off lanes. Each lab-ne was taken so I decided to do the treadmill until a spot opened up. 40 minutes later and the same 3 people are still doing laps. A house person walked by and I asked him if 2 [people were allowed in one lane and he said ask the guy in the pool. So I ask him and he says oh we are in the meddle of a swim class are you just looking to do a couple laps? I chose this hotel because of the lap pool and no I do not do just a couple of laps but either way who is this guy to question my use of the pool? After asking him if he works for the hotel he says yes and then askes one of the swimmers to share his lane so I can use the pool. Old smaller TVs cable only no casting. Stain on chair. I should have known better than to book an "old world charm" hotel but the conference I attended "highly recommended" it and my colleagues were staying there too.

Wonderful Customer Service

I am so impressed by the kindness of the employees. I arrived after a difficult family situation and instantly felt at ease when Ivan checked me in. He is a very kind and customer-focused person. Caroline and Meli were so kind to share information about the facility, the services, and the options for things to do in the area. During my 3-night stay it was my birthday and the staff gathered together and left me a card and treats in my room. I utilized the service of the Spa Aquavie and had a hot stone massage, it was fabulous. The rooftop swimming and hot tub has comfortable lounge chairs and a bar. This hotel is beautiful and is in a great location near downtown but away from the crowds. I highly recommend it.

We loved being here!

The dining room was exquisite and the staff delightful. The food was also above par. The front desk was very helpful, sweet and caring. They helped us check in 4 hours early so that we could attend the opera on time. The rooms are lovely but dated. They need a bit of upkeep.
