Perfection in the best neighborhood in SF

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Best hotel I have stayed at in any city. It is in the premier neighborhood in San Francisco. A block from “billionaires row”. Very safe area to walk in at day or during the night. Beautiful vistas from the rooms and the lobby, with tree lined quiet streets. The rooms are wonderful because they feel like a private apartment, as does the lobby and understated entrance. Very relaxing place to stay. The breakfast is lovely and you can bring it back to your room. Make sure to go on walks in the presidio which is a national park next to the hotel.

A Gem in Pacific Heights

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

My husband and I use to live in Pacific Heights and it is our favorite neighborhood in SF. Beautiful views and homes, swanky, quiet, untouched by covid craziness and lovely. We stayed here for one night and it was great to be back in our old neighborhood. This is a quiet and comfortable boutique hotel in a wonderful neighborhood. The room was quite comfortable with a lot of amenities - including a very comfortable bed. The staff is delightful. The hotel provides all of the little five -star touches. The complimentary breakast is excellent -make sure you order off the menu as well. The only thing this property lacks is parking but the neighborhood is so safe we were fine parking on the street. It's a gem.

A home away from home!

My wife and I return to Hotel Drisco to visit our daughters whenever possible. Having lived in Pacific Heights in the seventies it's like coming home to our beloved City. The accommodations are first class and the staff is professional, attentive and caring. The Drisco seems more like our personal time-share Condo with a service staff than a hotel. If you like comfort, quality, privacy and service Hotel Drisco is for you!

A joy of Calm on top of Pacific Heights

The Drisco It's an remarkable hotel. It has been the absolute best establishment my husband and I have ever stayed (15 year timeline). We have stayed as couple and with family, usually in a suite. There is a quiet, old world attitude that makes you feel you have walked into an oasis of personal pampering. We have been impressed by the consistency of hospitality, the professionalism of the staff, the innate charm of the building, which is beautifully maintained. Thank you for turning off the voice in the elevator announcing the floor. There are only 4. The helpful staff are thoughtful to the small touches of comfort, whether making arrangements or offering suggestions. How many nice hotels actually fill the tank in the Nespresso machine in advance? How many stock your room ice bucket with fresh cubes in advance, or tuck china dishes, forks, napkins in the wooden cablnet in case you want your complimentary welcome snacks on real plates? The rooms contain a curiousity of amenities, even pen and paper, umbrella, tate bags and other small objects that make you realize some has taken time to plan thoroughly for the possible needs of their guests. Towels and sheets are thick and soft, the bathroom floor is heated; the shower controls reliably uncomplicated. Both breakfast & evening appetizers are included in a well appointed dining room with white tablecloths. I can only imagine the amount of behind the scenes attention to detail that management and staff perform to create this environment for their guests. I feel very fortunate that the Hotel Drisco exists.

Great place for a good price

This understated but elegant hotel is my go-to place to stay in San Francisco. The only issue is if you have a rental car, you need to find parking in the neighborhood. Otherwise, is beats many of the other downtown hotels. I'd give it three thumbs up if I had three.

Not only was the Hotel Drisco luxurious, the service was impeccable, the suite was absolute luxury (we didn't want to leave the room!), the breakfasts were fantastic, and the afternoon wine gatherings were superb. Luxury does not begin to describe the experience. The only drawback is that I now will never want to stay anywhere else in San Francisco.

We recently stayed at the Hotel Drisco and it was one of the most enjoyable stays I've ever had at a hotel. This extremely quaint hotel is located on a beautiful street and the hotel staff was particularly nice. The next time I'm in San Francisco, I'll be staying at the Drisco a hotel that captures the grace and charm of Europe.
