We loved our stay at the White Swan Inn! Truly the most comfortable bed I've ever stayed in. Room was spacious (could use a bit more light). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and happy hour were a great bonus. Great location. Highly recommend a stay here and can't wait to come back

The White Swan Inn PERFECTLY fit my (solo) needs! Quaint, attentive, best locale, and cost-effective! The breakfast offerings were 'spot on, clean, spacious room (for my needs), and the glowing fireplace was the 'marshmallow on top of the hot cocoa'!!! A little joyous gem in the heart of San Fran! Will return in the future!

We loved our 3 night stay here. It's located in a fantastic location that felt like we were in our own SF apartment, just blocks from a Cable Car stop and the downtown core. The breakfast and wine hour were just lovely in the cozy parlour. What a great find.

Charming, nice location close to Union Square. The working fireplaces are a nice, cozy, touch. I got upgraded to a suite, which was spacious. Building is old and a little creaky, which I found charming. But elevator needs to be hand operated and so requires effort. The free buffet breakfast has limited options.

I was on the hunt for a small boutique hotel as I am needing to travel to San Francisco for a couple of nights for the next several weeks. I give this property props for great staff and customer service. The free bottled and sparkling water in the room, the wine and cheese hour and free breakfast were all good. Everything else, not so much. It’s an older property which is fine, but it needs help. The entrance has no ramp so you have to drag your luggage up the stairs. No big deal if you’re able. The room was very clean and beat up. They need new furniture, tvs and window coverings. The outside noise is a problem. If they replaced the windows, it would probably be tolerable. Now for the plumbing. The bathrooms are updated, but not the plumbing. On my last morning the commode wouldn’t flush and started flooding the bathroom. I was using garbage cans to bail out toilet water. Ick! In old properties they really need to have plungers. I felt bad and left the housekeeper an enhanced tip. I went, I stayed and now I’m searching again for other options.
