Stayed at Ka'ana at the beginning of our Belize trip. Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff. We were there during the off season, so there were not many guests and there was a little maintenance going on (but not anything that was intrusive, it's the tropics, things need to be maintained!). Andee was a great guide who took us around the area and told us lots of interesting things about Belize. Eric was our guide for the ATM cave, a tour I highly recommend. The restaurant/bar was delicious! A lot of really wonderful items. And if you can, do the Mayan cooking class. The ladies that taught it were lovely!

I wish there was a 10 star rating available for this resort. My husband and I had a private villa with a plunge pool. Not only was the villa really nice, the grounds and dining areas are gorgeous as well. The service level from every member of the staff was fantastic and really contributed to a wonderful stay. The food was absolutely great at every meal we had and you can tell there is a very high level of attention to details for every function at this resort. We can't wait to go back!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us find different companies to help us with our home furnishings and items to finish our house over there. We greatly appreciate their knowledge. Villa 1 was a beautiful place to come back to in the evening and relax. They are right off a main road that at the time of our stay was under construction so there was extra road noise from the large trucks breaking. Otherwise the location is great that it is easy to get to.

Our stay at Ka'ana was absolutely magical. We picked Ka'ana for a luxury jungle experience and that's exactly what we got. We stayed there for a full week. Our room was everything we pictured and more! The private backyard and plunge pool was the best part. The housekeeping staff kept our room clean daily, and always replaced our towels without us even asking. The bar and restaurant staff were extremely attentive and friendly. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast every day (except one morning at the San Ignacio market square on Saturday - at the suggestion of the staff!),lunch most days and dinner most nights. The menu had enough variety that we tried different things every day and it didn't get boring. The front desk staff was extremely knowledgeable and very responsive when we had questions or requests. We felt very taken care of all week, and we knew they would help if we needed something. We went on a few excursions through the resort and they were both incredible. Eddy took us to Xunantunich and gave us the most informative and interesting private tour of the area and ruins. Brandon took us to the Mountain Pine Forest Reserve and spent the day showing us Rio Frio caves and pools and Black Rock Falls. Both tours were professional, informative and inspiring. We also had a couples massage while on the property in the spa - and both masseuses were extremely skilled and made our experience comfortable and relaxing. Overall, every member of the staff we met was incredibly helpful, informative and respectful. They all deserve a raise! The hotel grounds were absolutely stunning, with a beautiful organic garden on site, that they use for ingredients in their restaurant - true "farm to table!" We can't wait to go back.

The resort was beautiful and the service was superior! Everyone on the property was very hospitable. Julio at the front desk helped answer a lot of questions and was so welcoming. We booked activities through our resort and really want to give recognition to our tour guides, Yummi and Andee. Yummi was our guide to Tikal. I highly recommend this tour, and you should request her. We went with our kids (9, 12) and Yummi brought a driver, Israel. They made sure our trip was seamless, end to end. We spent the day just picking Yummi's brain. She was so passionate about Mayan culture and history, but she was also knowledgeable about government, politics, and the economy not just of Belize and Guatemala, but she knew about the United States as well. We had the best conversations! She knew a ton about wildlife and conservation...it was a day of wonderful site-seeing and learning. Yummi is from Guatemala but speaks English perfectly. She was kind and caring and patient with our kids...cannot say enough great things about our trip to Tikal with Yummi! Andee was our guide to the ATM cave. When they say this activity is challenging, they are NOT exaggerating. There are very few places in the world that you will get to experience a trip like this. I told my friends, it's one of the most amazing things we've ever done, but you cannot bring cameras, so I have no evidence. You can watch some TikTok videos that will give you an idea of what to expect, but you will never know the depth of the experience unless you go see for yourself. Andee met us at the resort at around 7AM. We could tell that he was hurrying, but didn't understand fully why until we got there. He made sure we were the first in the cave that day, which makes for the best experience. After hiking for about 45 minutes, in and out of the river, you enter the cave and swim a ways until you make it to land. The hike to the end is about 3 hours...and what you see and do on the way there is something you will remember for the rest of your life. Not only is the cave amazing, but you get to climb in and out of small spaces, up and down big boulders, in and out of water. Our kids had a blast! Andee showed us interesting things all the way through and made sure everyone was safe along the way. Deep inside the caves are Mayan artifacts and evidence of human sacrifices. You will stand right next to ancient pottery and human remains. As Andee was giving the tour, you could tell that he was moved by what the Mayans had gone through and truly respected the sacred grounds. He talked about the political environment of the time and why the Mayans were desperate and compelled to beg the gods for rain and harvest by sacrificing in the caves. The whole day was breath taking! So, stay at Ka'ana when you come to the area, they will take great care of you. And book through the resort for your experiences, they will make sure you have everything you need, and are affiliated with some of the best tour guides in all of Belize & Guatemala!
