Hotel El Ganzo

The place is funky, artsy, and edgy. Nice view and drinks. If you are looking for a party thumping until 1 am, this is it. There is no carpeting so you will hear everyone walking down the hall, I'm now cool so say I experienced it, but not a relaxing hotel.

The hotel location on the marina is a short drive away from all the shops and restaurants in San Jose del Cabo. The hotel amenities include rooftop pools overlooking the marina and the Sea of Cortez and a ground level quiet pool, gym and spa. They offer a water taxi service to the beach club which was fast and easy. The hotel has a hip vibe with art and music (and a recording studio)! Staff are friendly and provide prompt and attentive service and the meals were delicious (gracious Vladimir)!

Everything was amazing, the beds are extremely comfy, the rooms are very nice, the vier is great. Alan attended us with a great service he was always attentive and friendly. We extended our stay unexpectedly bcz we liked it so much. The food on the rooftop was amazing I have never had such good fries and vegetarian tacos!! Cheers to the chefs.

Not to mention how great the view is from the balcony, there are also yummy surprises in the room everyday. The whole staff team was wonderful, trying to solve any issues we had. The boutique store also has a lot to shop for - my wife enjoyed it a lot.

I cannot begin to describe how obsessed I am with Hotel El Ganzo. I've only been back for less than two weeks and have told anyone willing to listen about how fantastic this hotel is. To start, the location is perfect. Easy 30 min drive from the airport, a quick 10 min drive or Uber into San Jose del Cabo, and a 1 min boat ride across the channel to the beach (a service that the hotel provides). The neighborhood surrounding the hotel as also incredible. You can simply stroll the quiet residential streets lined with quaint beach homes and friendly neighbor dogs, or head to nearby coffee shops, bakeries, bars, restaurants, dive shops, and convenience stores (along with a 24 hour urgent care and pharmacy just in case). Our favorites were El Marinero Borracho, Coffee Lab (which has a vinyl bar speakeasy on weekends), and Rubas Bakery. The hotel itself was truly a five star experience. The bilingual staff were so friendly to both us and our dog, and they even made our dog a complimentary dinner of beef and peanut butter treats when we arrived! The service throughout the hotel was also outstanding, from the spa to the restaurants to housekeeping. The food and drinks were unreal! Usually at hotels I like to stick to beer to avoid the premixed, low quality cocktails but not here...the cocktails, wine, and NA beverages were all so fresh and interesting. Same with the food! You could tell that every salsa, juice, bread, etc was all made in house. Aside from the F&B, the amenities of the hotel were also outstanding. We alternated our days between the pool and the beach, and I still can't pick a favorite. Both spots had an incredible ambience- curated playlists of funky instrumental mixes (no sh*tty top 40 remixes here), comfortable and luxurious beach chairs and cabanas, and just enough people to feel populated without feeling crowded (no need to wake up at 6am to save a chair here, there was always space). I would wholeheartedly recommend Hotel El Ganzo to anyone, but especially to those who want their Cabo vacation to include: - Top tier food and drinks - A beach and pool where you can relax, swim, but also moderately turn up - A part of town where you can walk around, support amazing local businesses, and venture into San Jose where the vibes are more coffee/artisan stores/breweries/street tacos/restaurants you actually want to eat at vs. Senor Frogs - A hotel that invests in the local community and environment 1000000/10!
