Not the experience we expected...

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Our long-awaited stay at this highly recommended luxury resort proved deeply disappointing, revealing critical flaws in both service and property design. While the resort's aesthetic is undeniably beautiful, the reality of our experience fell far short of the promised luxury and inflated price point. Butler Dependency and Failures: - Our assigned butler, our sole point of contact, exhibited a consistent lack of attentiveness despite the 1:1 ratio of butler:villa. Pre-arrival dietary specifications, communicated in great detail ahead of arrival, were repeatedly ignored, resulting in the serving of meat twice despite strict dietary restrictions mentioned on multiple occasions. If a guest puts effort pre-arrival, that effort should be matched upon arrival. - Simple requests, such as daily baby puree orders, were forgotten after the second day. - A request for a basic children's meal (tofu, avocado, and rice), despite being on the pre-order list, was met with confusion and resulted in an exorbitant $65 charge at the Arbol restaurant. - Promises of daily in-room amenity replenishment were unfulfilled after the first day. - The shoe rack that appeared the night before departure, was a smart symbolic gesture that highlighted the lack of correct timing of service. - An attempt to bypass the butler via the room's landline was futile, as LVP prefers all inquiries funnel through the butler. Service Inconsistencies: - Moldy limes left unreplaced in the villa highlighted a general lack of attention to detail. - While the F&B department made great and appreciated efforts at service recovery in the final 24 hours, the damage was already done and it couldn't make up for the lousy days prior. Money grabs over guest experience: - The hotel was happy to prioritize those spending the biggest bucks. They allowed a big spender to pay $25,000 to launch fireworks not even 20 feet away from our infant's window at 9:45PM. It was a total disregard for basic hospitality in an attempt to appease a big spender. - In addition, they allowed the same family to host a beach dinner (the set up was stunningly beautiful) with a private mariachi band that blared music right next to an outdoor restaurant - which would have been okay had they planned properly. The live musicians at the restaurant carried on creating an odd dining experience with overlapping music for all diners. Signature Residence Location and Accessibility: - The Signature Three Bedroom Residence which is not often mentioned in reviews, and marketed as a premium accommodation, is located a significant 15-minute walk from the resort's central amenities. This critical detail is not disclosed on the website. - The property's terrain is characterized by numerous mandatory staircases, creating significant accessibility challenges for guests with mobility impairments or those traveling with strollers. This made simple trips to the pool, beach, or restaurants extremely taxing. We would not recommend this resort for families with strollers. - The 3 included massages, breakfast, and transfers for this room type were appreciated (but I think necessary to compensate for the room's location directly next to Cabo's main highway) Spa Deficiencies: - The spa facilities were in a state of noticeable disrepair, with aging and poorly maintained treatment cabins. This detracted significantly from the intended relaxation experience and was incongruent with the resort's premium pricing. Overall Recommendation: - Prospective guests should carefully consider the property's accessibility limitations and the potential for inconsistent service. - If booking, pre-arranging a beach cabana ($) is recommended, but be prepared for potential service lapses (pool heater was broken or not activated one day / daily ceviche inclusion was missed both days). - Due to the properties design, those who have mobility issues, or those with very small children, should strongly consider alternative resorts. - Those with dietary needs should look to more proactively luxurious properties like Four Seasons - If you sense your butler isn't sufficiently meeting your needs ahead of arrival, better to ask for a new one to be assigned before arriving.

Paulina the hotels concierge extraordinaire made this 50th birthday trip truly out of this world. We all felt like royalty with her making the impossible possible at every turn! One of their restaurant chef’s even cooked our freshly caught fish from the fishing trip in 3 different ways that made us all speechless. The speakeasy was so much fun every night with outstanding performances & live music. You are waited on everywhere you go from breakfast on your patio to the gym to the spa to the pool & the beach where they even wrote our names in the sand with designs! As a travel agency owner & concierge myself of over 20 years I highly recommend this hotel & to request Paulina if you want a vacation that exceeds all expectations.

Best Staff and Amazing Property

Best hotel and staff ever, you cant go wrong with a Rosewood property. The level of service is outstanding, rooms are immaculate. Food is good. We had zero issues on our trip, this property is a standout. Pool staff go above and beyond, making sure you have iced Evian mist and fruit pops

Disappointing service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Upcoming 1 week stay and already a terrible experience with the concierge. I’m spending $25k at this place and after multiple whatsapp messages directly with them, they defer back to sending someone else a request via email to setup a simple dinner reservation. Then I email them and they don’t respond for like 6-7 hours and after another message they are gone til the next day. How hard is it to get someone in on a WhatsApp message and just make a dinner reservation. I’ve gotten better service at 3 star hotels, I’m sorry to say. It’s like they just give you the run around and really show no interest in taking care of the guest. Even when you’re spending money with them and trying to book a dinner to spend even more money. Places like this get too big, charge lots of money, then forget about the service part of things, which is what matters. Disappointed already.
