Borrowing its name from the Spanish phrase meaning "white flower", Costa Rica's Florblanca invites you to delight in all that nature has to offer with an idyllic oceanfront luxury resort. Along the warm, white sands of Playa Santa Teresa, this stunning all-villa resort combines the unsurpassed beauty of nature with the elegant charm of an opulent coastal getaway. Within the past year, each of Florblanca's 11 private villas have been stylishly remodeled, from the furniture to the details in the décor. Each villa is a haven of comfort and style, bathed in soothing earth tones, and regional Latin flair. Rooms come complete with lavish complimentary elements like plush bathrobes, an in-room safe, and iPod/iPad speakers. The captivating garden bathroom opens under a brilliant, blue sky, while the call of the stone soaking tub is too enticing to ignore.

This beautiful resort could offer such a great experience should it tweak some fundamental issues...it wasn't a great start to be greeted by someone who clearly didn't enjoy interacting with guests. Having only 11 villas, a vacation here could feel very exclusive and personal but the service did not live up this. One exception was a concierge by the name of Oscar who went out of his way to bring good vibes. The outdoor bathroom, including the toilet, was beautifully designed but entirely impractical, unless you were happy to share with spiders and giant ants. Everything, other than breakfast, seemed to be chargeable (yoga classes, lattes at breakfast, etc.) which felt rogue considering the excessively high rates for this hotel. In high season, the hotel was only half full and perhaps this is the reason why!

The nicest place we've ever stayed! Completely destressed, amazing Staff, fantastic food! We were impressed the moment we arrived. Facilities were impeccably maintained with a focus on environmental care. The entire staff was incredibly kind and gracious. Beautiful resort!

I would not stay at this particular resort again (Forblanca Resort, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.), however, I would love to revisit Costa Rica again. After a hortible year filled with death and turmoil, we needed an escape. The service here is wonderful during the evenings and on the weekends, but on weekday staff during the day, was not what I expected. They completely ignore you. We usually tip really well for good service. but they get nothing for poor service or no service at all, even after mentioning that we were on the beach waiting to be served. Yesterday was our 12th wedding anniversary, and it was my worst anniversary ever. I ended up with an extremely painful ear infection. Although it was no fault of the employees, my husband was just very angry with me for no apparent reason. I embarrassingly cried my heart out in front of housekeeping, and for that, I'm extremely sorry. Only the evening staff cares. This was our first trip to Costa Rica, I thought that I had found a gem in the wilderness. The night staff is amazing, along with housekeeping. Your daytime staff needs to step it up. I HATE being ignored and feeling that I do not matter.I am more than willing to pay for good service. We owned a restaurant years ago ans know that.it is ALL ABOUT service. There is no excuse for poor service! If they aren't willing to provide amazing service, they will not make much money. Off to Italy and Negril, Jamaica next.

This resort ticks all the boxes to be 4 stars—but it’s really a 3 star-plus resort. there’s a beautiful beach. but you can’t swim in the ocean because it’s too rocky. (short walk to nice beach nearby). There’s a gym but it’s smaller than a postage stamp. The villas are wide open to the air. which is cool, but expect some bugs and mosquitoes. Upon checking in we were told not to leave any food out because the raccoons would come. The rooms look beautiful, but I had to wear bug spray at all times. Staff were friendly and arranged for a taxi for us to go to dinner and come back. Come here if you’re looking for quiet lounging and reading and yoga.

This is an exquisite property on one of the most beautiful beaches of Costa Rica. The staff is incredible and the food is absolutely delicious. The ceviche is very well-known. My favorite was the mezcal margarita. We stayed in the ocean view villa with a beautiful view of the beach. The Pilates studio and teachers were incredible. Mav and Nadje are highly gifted teachers. Uri and his staff were so amazing. Thank you to Fabiola who greeted us with such hospitality and thank you to Luis for being so welcoming. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.

Dear Cody, Cindy, Patricia and the rest of the wonderful amazing Florblanca staff,
Wow....here we are a month later and looking back on that incredible stay we had over Christmas with you all. We truly loved our stay in Santa Teresa and it was most definitely in large part due to the incredible dedication, hard work, and amazing attitude of the Florblanca team. We still can not believe how great and accommodating you all were for us (especially me in my handicapped state of being!). We will come back when I can surf again!
We will most certainly be recommending you to all our friends and family (we already have been raving about you to so many of them!). You guys truly went above and beyond for our family during our stay with you and we will always be exceptionally grateful.
