Reviews for Mandarin Oriental, Santiago

Exceptional.

Renovated hotel. Very well located. Impeccably clean rooms. Matsuri Restaurant is always excellent, even after 15 years. Possibly one of the most qualified hotel service teams we’ve ever encountered. As good as Eolo (El Calafate/Argentina) and Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences (London). Special thanks to the drivers Javier, Patricio, Jorge, and Mauricio. To the concierges Camilo and Cristobal. To the entire attentive team at the "Club" (16th floor). To the front desk team, including Antonia. A very special thanks to the dear and tireless Stephanie Morno (guest relations agent), who even wrote a card in Portuguese for our son's birthday. In Santiago, we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

The place to stay when on holiday in Santiago.

A really beautiful hotel. Rooms are great with amazing views of the mountains. Food and cocktails were amazing (a really good Asian/Japanese restaurant) and the swimming pool area is awesome - green, peaceful, plenty of seating/beds/shade. Only slight issue is it is quite far out of the city centre so you have to walk along way to the underground stations - but still an amazing place.

Didn’t want to leave

We loved everything about this hotel. Service was top notch and breakfast buffet outstanding. I especially loved the linens - I didn’t want to get out of bed ever. The room was large and we had nice views of the Andes. We enjoyed lounging by the pool; the fitness center is also solid. I wish we could have gotten massage treatments but they were booked several days out.

Good hotel in the Sanhattan area of Santiago

We had high expectations of the hotel as it is Mandarin after all. The location is good, the pool is nice, the rooms are good, but the buffet breakfast is just okay (the fare did not seem to change during our 4D/3N stay). We were also expecting to see more of the local food but the breakfast buffet is more american-continental with hardly any chilean items to make us feel that we are in a different continent.

Good, but interesting guest mix around the pool

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Mixed thoughts here - the service is mostly great at the front desk and bell boys, and the rooms are fine - nothing too special - but we had one with a view, and one without, though the Bed is super comfy and housekeeping was excellent. We stayed for two weekends - and the food was fine, a little overrated in the Japanese and lovely in the Italian - although we eat there on Christmas Day and the waiter was all over the place. Breakfast was also very good. The issue really was the pool service and - sorry to be a snob - some of the other guests around the pool - not really what we were used to from a normal Mandarin Oriental - I will leave it with you to imagine!
