Our trip began on Holland America's OOSTERDAM. We thought Matilda's was close to port so we didn't book their transportation. We ended up taking a local transportation to Matilda's. Matilda's was exceptionally worth the extra money we paid to get their. Macarena and Fernanda were great hosts. They assigned us to room 12 on the third floor. They have a lift to take your luggage to your room so all you have to do is climb the stairs. The pictures of the hotel are perfect. Our room was better than some of the hotels you might want to stay at for less money. Don't do it. Matilda's is reasonably priced and is a unique experience. Everyone was super nice, the whole hotel was super clean. Walking to 2 restaurants for dinner that Macarena recommended were excellent. We originally booked our room for 2 nights but extended our stay by another day because we had an 11:55 PM flight back to the states that night. Breakfast was continental or made to order eggs or omelets. The Honor bar was a unique experience. A bar is set up. You help yourself and write down what you had. They charge you what you had from that list. It is about one half hour to the airport. They will arrange transportation for UBERs around town or to the airport. BOTTOM LINE: We would book this hotel every time we would visit Santiago. I would give it a "5" in every category. Thank you Fernanda and Macarena.

Beautiful old building in central Santiago. Extremely welcoming staff. Lovely big room with huge and comfortable bed. Clean and modern bathroom. Classy and stylish decor throughout and a great breakfast! The outside terrace is a delight.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of a 30 day trip that started in Buenos Aires, then 22 days cruise to Antarctica. When we got to Santiago, we were tired and just grateful to be able to get checked in. When we arrived, we were early but they graciously allowed us to check in. The hotel is in a smaller neighborhood and has a security gate. At the back is a beautiful, very private outdoor courtyard. Hot/cold breakfast was included and the coffee is delicious! They also have an “honesty bar”. There is a wide selection of beverages in the kitchen area. You help yourself on the honor system and just write down your room number and what you had. The building is beautiful. It was built in the early 1900s and was restored in 2015. The 20ft high ceilings are beautifully ornate and all the original details stand out in so many ways. If we have the opportunity to return to Chile, we’d definitely stay there again!

Hotel Matildas is a true gem for boutique hotel enthusiasts. This lovely, quaint property provided a comfortable and welcoming stay during our two nights transiting through Santiago. The staff and service were absolutely top-notch—responsive, attentive, and genuinely warm. Breakfast was a highlight, with a plentiful and varied selection. Don’t miss the freshly prepared eggs or the delightful strawberry juice—they were the perfect way to start each day. If you appreciate the charm and personal touches of boutique hotels, Hotel Matildas is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful and unique colonial mansion hotel. The mansion was very charming and decorated so nicely. The room was clean with modern amenities with colonial charm. The staffs Catalina, Macarena, Fernanda, Milenka, and Isidora were very welcoming and very helpful. Special Thank-you to Macarena for helping us with our issue with the local tour company. The front desk staffs took care of us very well and felt very safe staying here. The surroundings of the area are safe and restaurants are at a walkable distance. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay.
