Reviews for The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago

Solid luxury hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

Excellent solid hotel in Santiago for the price point . Right in the business district so everything is right there within walking distance but the hotel is secluded and sheltered from the hustle and bustle. Great staff and service. We had a great room with a balcony/terrace. Room decor is traditional maybe slightly “dated” but didn’t detract from the stay. The staff are on par with Ritz Carlton quality. The property could do with a refresh soon. Perfect stay before our trip to Easter Island.

Superb

We had a wonderful 3 nights at this hotel. Staff were pleasant, attentive, and always ready to help. The lobby is bright and spacious. The check-in/out process was quick and easy. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Wi-Fi connection was excellent. There is turn down service. Room amenities were as can be expected. This property is within walking distance to shops and restaurants. It's around 30 minutes' drive from the airport. A great place to stay in Santiago.

Rooms in Decline

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I will start this review by saying that the staff was, without exception, warm and welcoming. This has always been the case when we have stayed at this hotel. In the past, the rooms have also been lovely, but that all changed on this visit. We arrived late in the evening for a two night stay. After a bit of time in the room, we realized that the air conditioning was not working, and the temperature was nearly 80 degrees. As it was late, we decided to just wait and report the issue in the morning. Upon doing so, we were assured that it would be addressed. When we returned to the hotel in the afternoon and inquired at the front desk, we were told that it was fixed. It was not, and we spent the next several hours communicating about the problem and status, constantly being told that it was being addressed. Finally, we were moved to another room that night. It had the same issue with air conditioning and extremely high temperature. In addition, the charging outlets in the room did not work. We expressed our disappointment when we checked out after two sleepless nights, but it was apparent throughout the process that no one really cared. We have enjoyed our previous stays, but will look for a better option next time we are in Santiago.

Relaxation in luxury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We stayed a night here after 2 weeks in the Atacama region and before our return home . We wanted a comfortable hotel with pool so we could relax before flying back. This hotel provided just that . We were very warmly welcomed at reception and the room was lovely. Very well appointed and nice bathroom and amenities. A well stocked mini bar and a coffee maker but only downside was there was no kettle to make tea. Had to use the coffee machine which gave the tea a coffee taste. The safe was of a small size and very flat so no room for much and definitely not a camera or laptop. There was an iron in room which is helpful . The highlight was the rooftop pool and jacuzzi area . Nice warm pool and jacuzzi. Very clean and lovely view. Was able to have a hot drink there too . Dinner in the restaurant was really good but portions a little large . Breakfast really good with a huge variety of everything! They even have a dog menu ! Something I’ve never seen before and nice to see they welcome pets . The bar area is lovely too and nice selection. All the staff were lovely and especially the lovely Cesar ! Situated in a safe area of Santiago

Great value for the price!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Great value for the price, one of the best priced Ritz Carlton's I've ever stayed at! Rooms & property were well decorated and staff was very helpful. I believe our nightly rate was around $220/night which was one of the pricier places in Santiago but a great value for Americans who are used to paying 2-5x that to stay at a Ritz Carlton.
