About the Hotel
Embracing a legacy of rich history dating back to the 15th century, Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando Hotel is located on the first paved road of the New World, Calle Las Damas, in the heart of Santo Domingo’s historic Zona Colonial, designated a UNESCO Heritage Site. Comprising three stone houses and courtyards built in 1502, the historic building was the very first to be built on the country’s colonial land and the home of the town’s founder and first Spanish governor of the Americas, Nicolas de Ovando, and his companion Christopher Columbus.

Trip back in time...
I stayed Imperial and everything was 5 stars. Beds super comfortable, 6 pillows, everything smelled fresh. Hallways well decorated transports you back in time. Accessible to all areas, next to ferrie dock that travels to San Juan Puerto Rico. Employees super nice, attentive and courteous. Breakfast was amazing. Pool not that big but the right size for the area. No hot tub or jacuzzi. We made it our return Hotel next visit. I give it 5 stars. Highly recommend.

Amazing day at Hodelpa NO
Johanse was amazing. Made our experience awesome. Very professional and kind. We had omelettes that were out of this world! I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone coming to the Dominican Republic! We will definitely be back for our next trip.

A great experience in a beautiful hotel. The staff outstanding. Eric, Jose, and the rest of the staff absolutely amazing. Very centric and the best hotel in Colonial Zone. I will be back with my whole family again. Recommended a 100 %. Walking distance to everything around and very safe.

Exceptional Hotel in The Colonial Zone
We loved our stay! This is an exceptional hotel located in the historic and vibrant Colonial Zone. We enjoyed a colonial-style room for six days and breakfast in the courtyard. Our room was serviced daily, and we were happy to sleep on a comfortable bed with the most comfortable pillows! Everyone at the front desk and adjacent areas was cordial and offered great service. The pool area was great and kept clean. Jose, Clara, Cindy, Clarita, and Michele went the extra mile to ensure a pleasant experience. We will return!

Felix was the best butler we could ever ask for. He even accompanied us on our walk to a nearby restaurant and ensured we were comfortable during our entire stay. The hotel was exceptional in every way. Thank you from Cris and Lisa! Be back soon
