Embracing a legacy of rich history dating back to the 15th century, Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando Hotel is located on the first paved road of the New World, Calle Las Damas, in the heart of Santo Domingo’s historic Zona Colonial, designated a UNESCO Heritage Site. Comprising three stone houses and courtyards built in 1502, the historic building was the very first to be built on the country’s colonial land and the home of the town’s founder and first Spanish governor of the Americas, Nicolas de Ovando, and his companion Christopher Columbus.

It's the 2nd time we celebrated a wedding at the hotel over the last few years. The event space is fabulous for both the ceremony and the reception. The food fantastic. The hotel captures the beauty of Santo Domingo. The staff is well trained. Felix Gonzalez, was both charming and completely attentive. Perfect hospitality experience. Thank you

Great moment at the bar by the swimming pool. Thanks to Clara and Jose : perfect staff for a perfect place. This hotel located in the center of the Zona Colonial represents the history of the city, you are back 500 years in the past. Very quiet too.

Loved this property but was particularly stunned by the service. Hector helped us day in and day out. Felix provided tons of suggestions for dinner and drinks when we were in a tricky schedule. And Francisco was at seemingly every door and helping with our bags. We were very lucky to have these guys around and it made our traditional end of year vacation so much more enjoyable. Thank you, Hector, Felix, and Francisco.
