Legendary sunsets, as beautiful as a dream, will take your breathe away as they fall over the equally gorgeous La Maltese Estate in Imerovigli, Santorini. Dramatically set 250 meters above the Aegean, at the edge of the caldera of this famous Greek island, this all-suite estate effortlessly combines the modern and the mythical with a location unlike any other. With an elegant sophistication and opulence, each apartment-style suite is part old world charm and part contemporary oasis. Rich antique furniture and ornate four-poster beds and accents contrast wonderfully with the flowing Cycladic style to create a charmingly warm, ambient space that instantly soothes and comforts. Step out through large French doors to a terrace, complete with majestic views and invitingly plush sunbeds. A gem of Santorini, La Maltese Estate invites you to join the tranquil flow of the island, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the Aegean.

Terrible experience and customer service. They sold our reservation! After flying for hours and paying 50 euro for an airport transfer, the hotel manager (Konstantinos) told us he didn’t have a reservation for us. He initially told us his system showed us arriving on different dates but later admitted he sold our room to a wedding party. He tried to offer us a cheap room nearby but it was a subpar room. I contacted him prior to our arrival and THEY setup our airport transfer so he absolutely knew when we were arriving. My confirmation dates were correct. We moved to the Domes property who welcomed us. Would never book or stay at La Maltese. He didn’t even offer to cover our additional 50 euro hotel transfer to the new hotel. Very poor management. I had my wedding at La Maltese Estate and it was the best decision ever! It was a destination wedding and booking online from Ireland we where a bit nervous. Aggelos (event manager) was there to help answer any questions we had, easing our nerves but also helped coordinating with the vendors for the wedding. It was the best time of our lives! I have food allergies and I was accomated to and had nothing to worry about. The view is absolutely amazing. The location is super, loads of little restaurants and good coffee shops around but nowhere near as busy as Oia. Our ceremony was at 5pm, dinner at sunset and we danced the night away. The ceremony was on the private rooftop and after we went downstairs for food and dancing (the Buddha bar). We had 15 guests who where blow away with the scecenary. It is ideal venue for a destination wedding as it has different types of rooms for bigger group bookings and I would recommend this wedding venue to any bride and grooms

A very confused venue. It is a bar, hotel and rooms but is confused about what it really is...and it feels it. The room we had was quite a walk down a hill to another building, which doesn't relate to the main building. It felt isolated and lonely. The Buddha Bar tries to be cool and trendy but it isn't. We had booked and paid for 4 days but left after 2. The area itself is terrific . Away from the ship hoards and a communal feel, with some good cafes .

most disappointed hotel of our whole reip. 1. First night they relocated us in another hotel with no view because of an electricity problem in our room (I don't believe this). The room was finally ready the day after. Shower and drain was not working well, there was water all over the bathroom. Big whole in the bathroom wall. Safe was not working. Hot tub was not washed very well. Manager never tried to offer an upgrade nor a discount for not having the room on the first night. For a 600CAD$, we were expecting more. Manager is not but really not friendly. Will Never recommand this hotel.

Review for trip advisor… if you have photos you want to add If you are looking for the hotel the reception is at the Buddha bar, we were greeted by lovely staff who welcomed us onto the bar’s terrace with complimentary drinks. We checked it to our villa which is a little stroll down from the hotel, they call it La Maltese villa. The villa is beautiful and the view is absolutely magic! You really don’t need to leave to see a better sunset! Above the residence there are two other levels with lounges and the top floor has the swimming pool. The pool is a little cold probably as it’s a concrete pool but it was quite hot so our girls didn’t care and still went for a dip. For me it was a little too fresh! We highly recommend the restaurant Mama Lena which is a short stroll back to the main road, family run restaurant, the food is really awesome: home style greek cuisine! Must try the loukamades for desert! The hotels’s staff work so hard and always greet you with a beautiful smile and always try to do their best to accomodate you! We also met the owner who was so lovely and sent us a bottle of sparkling for our sunset viewing! Our breakfast was huge: pastries, yoghurt, fruit, fresh juice, eggs, cereals, you can eat it at your villa or eat and the restaurant which we did as we find it more convenient with kids. Breakfast is served between 9am-12pm but we found we started living like the locals and wouldn’t get up until 9am and head to breakfast at 10am and sleeping really late. We also had dinner at the Buddha Bar one night and the food was lovely, it had a greek twist to the usual Buddha bar cuisine, the black cod and teriyaki salmon are delicious. We have been to Santorini a few times and couldn’t believe how busy Oia and Thira now get especially with the cruise ships so we were so happy to be away from that hussle and bussel but still be close by for a visit. We rented a car to get a round and always were able to find parking around the hotel. If you keep strolling down from the villa there is the most amazing view of Thira definitely worth a look! And there are also some hiking tracks! The hotel room has everything you need: tvs have Netflix and prime, lots of toiletries, Nespresso coffee machine with pods, fridge, iron, aircon…I am sure if you needed anything specific the staff will accomodate to that. There is also a small convenience store if you need something near the main road and if not carrefour is not far for bigger purchases. Highly recommend this villa and this hotel for your next stay.
