In the charming Burgundy town of Saulieu, Relais Bernard Loiseau Hotel in Burgundy is a true French treasure. This former post house and Relais & Chateaux associate is home to one of the most celebrated restaurants in the country. Its refined guestrooms-which overlook the courtyard and gardens-showcase country manor house style with majestic 18th century furnishings, antique wood paneling and open timber ceilings. Here, just a two-hour drive from Paris, you'll experience a rare combination of warmth, intimacy and new simplicity.

This hotel seems to be living off its past reputation as a former three-star Michelin restaurant with rooms. This hotel is overrated and looks tired, with both the food and rooms at extortionate prices for what they offer. The dining experience felt like one-star cooking at a two-star Michelin restaurant, but with three-star prices. There was a clear lack of maintenance in the rooms, and in our room we had hot water come out of the cold taps. Overall, this was not worth the cost and not what we expect from a five-star hotel and Relais & Chateaux.

Thank you for a memorable experience. The grounds of Le Relais Bernard Loiseau are outstanding, creating many places on the grounds for relaxation, dining and socializing. The rooms were extremely well-appointed. We dined several times at the Cote D’Or, and enjoyed attentive service and creative, memorable dishes. Loiseau de Sens offers incredible quality and value. We will be back. Merci!

As we usually stay in Raleigh & Chateaux establishments, we have chosen this hotel with the 2*Michelin. Un fortunately the welcoming in reception was a shambles. Although we have reserved a Junior Suite, we were pushed in a small old room, with a small bed. Only after lot of arguments, with people who hardly speak english( 5* hotel), including the reception manageress, we got a nice newly renovated big suite. It gave a very bad taste to the visit. We were directed to the spa, but no sings in English. On first attempt, there was no one in the spa area to explain how to get to the new pool area. On the second attempt, there was a lady, no English, and not directing properly again . Thanks to our initiative we found it, very nice spa! After all those incidences, they tried to amend things. The Gourmand restaurant is amazing!! The food, service and the chef are excellent. All in all, a good hotel, but need to improve the reception service and language barrier.

Incredible 5-star service and comfort. Every detail meticulously observed and included. Delicious breakfast, comfortable bed, cozy room with historical beams, thick robes, beautiful spa. Charming service with a smile. Lovely terrace over the interior garden. We had a delicious dinner at their Bistro so you don’t have to do the Michelin 2-star restaurant.
