Having hosted celebrities, dignitaries, authors, and presidents it puts guests only steps from the trademark landscaped squares, moss-covered oaks, soulful restaurants, and memorable architecture that so vividly define Savannah. The hotel boasts 245 luxurious guestrooms, complete with hardwood floors and spa-like marble baths, and each room comes with a view so no matter which side of the hotel you stay on, there is something interesting to look at. A luxurious rooftop pool on the second floor, a gourmet-to-go coffee bar, and two chef-driven restaurants complete this beautiful hotel.

We had 12 hours in Savannah and booked the Desoto last minute. It was conveniently located to anything we would want to walking in downtown Savannah. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were nice and clean. We would recommend staying here.

The beds were so comforting and made for a restful nights sleep. The front desk handled our check-in very smoothly and Charlie took care of every detail out front. Wonderful experience and very happy employees. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone coming to Savannah for any occasion. We will definitely be back!

From the front staff that helped, Frank and Charlie, to the cleaning staff to the maintenance staff that fixed an issue in my room. Great stay. Also, the dinner at 1540 was spectacular- some of the best food I’ve had. I’d stay again for the staff alone.

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The lobby is beautiful and very impressive but the condition of the rooms is just average. The bed in the room was very comfortable though. The breakfast restaurant was beautiful; the food was good; and the staff were great. The coffee bar in the lobby was also very good. It’s in the center of the historic district so the hotel is close to everything. Tip: hotel parking is $45 per night. 2 blocks down from The DeSoto is Liberty Parking Garage where I paid $36 for three nights. There’s also a convenience store (Parker’s Market) close to the hotel for snacks, water or food items. Overall, we had a great stay and I would definitely consider staying at this property again when visiting Savannah.

A very comfortable hotel located in a great neighborhood. Very good amenities and warm staff. The only problem is housekeeping completely messed up one day. While the housekeeper took used towels, she did not leave replacements. She also did not replenish the coffee and left used/dirty drinking glasses in the room. Jessica stepped up and remedied all of these issues and was so professional an pleasant. Another shout out goes to bellman, Charlie. He was so friendly and helpful
