The hotel was very nice, clean lobby. The provisions bar was really nice had outside seating too. The front desk was friendly and efficient . If you see John Earl he’s very funny and can give you tips on where to go but if he mentions McDough Irish pub don’t go unless you like bad bad comedy. We had a third floor room overlooking the pool. It was a very clean room, comfy beds but high beds. We didn’t realize the windows opened til the second night during the night it opened….. there was a nice breeze. The hallway clean but dimly lit. My sister around 2am swore she heard a child crying for her mom. Myself and are other friend did not hear it. We got up to check the hallway nobody around….The pool area was really nice but pool bar must be seasonal and they advertised heated pool but it’s not. It still was nice to soak tired feet in cold pool after walking all day. The valet guys and lady were really nice gave us ideas on where to go. It is a very charming, older hotel in the heart of the historical area. We definitely will stay there again .

The bed was very comfortable, and the pillow was great. Charlie F in the hotel was just a delight. All were very welcoming. The provided breakfast was a nice array of choices. All the fresh fruit was yummy. Too bad it wasn’t warmer to enjoy the front porch/patio.

Charlie F. with the valet service was superb! He made us feel welcomed and relaxed immediately upon arrival and departure. Our room was upgraded to face the pool deck with a king bed. Comfy bed, gorgeous room, shower was a bit short but it’s expected in an 100 year old building. Excellent walkability and nearby restaurants. Wish there was more fire pits on the pool. Also wish they did not allow smoking on the pool deck and on the streets of Savannah.

DeSoto is located in a great spot near everything. The valet is convenient and the fastest I have ever experienced. The valet attendants are polite and professional, similar to the front desk. The facilities are good and the room nice. The pool is small but the pool area looked nice in the 2nd floor. There is a small cafe in the lobby which we visited. We did not eat at the hotel. Our room (315) was not quiet. We could hear our neighbors speak at a normal voice, answer their phone, watching tv and even sneeze. I guess they could hear us too. Luckily, our neighbors went to sleep around 11pm like us… the front staff texted us to check how our stay was going and I let them know about the noise with absolutely no response. They were responsive with my request for a forgotten toothbrush. I would stay at this hotel again but I would request a quiet room in a different floor.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, making it very convenient as everything is within walking distance. The lobby is welcoming and nicely designed, which adds to the overall positive experience. However, there are some drawbacks. The shower and toilet seat in room 513 are poorly designed; the toilet seat blocks the entrance to the shower, which was quite inconvenient. On my first day, I bumped into it while exiting the shower, aggravating my bad knee and causing pain for the rest of my weekend. If you plan to sleep early, I recommend avoiding the right side of the building. The rooftop bar is nearby, so it can get noisy. However, if you enjoy live music and a lively atmosphere, you might appreciate the vibrant scene, especially if it fits your age group.
