Lovely place and great service from Charlie at the valet desk, Becky at concierge, John, Bre, Ali, and Terry at Buffalo Bayou, CJ and the morning staff at 1540 Breakfast. Our room was great, front view to the river. Liberty Street is right in the middle of... everything, so it stays busy 24/7. The family and I had a great stay!!!

Alaijah was my parking valet. She’s was conscientious & well spoken. I almost never write reviews but she was terrific. My car was in safe hands, even on a busy night with many guests and heavy traffic. The hotel could use more client facing staff like her.

The staff was fantastic - Frank G is the man. Charming hotel right in the middle of things. The room was nice, the lobby bar was a great hang, and we had a great view over Savannah. Definitely recommend for families and couples alike. And say hi to Frank!

The Desoto is always outstanding. The location is our favorite. The staff and cleanliness are exceptional. We love it! The only thing this trip was 2 fire alarms went off. One was at 3:30 AM. We had to walk down 6 flights of steps. I understand if there is an emergency. What I did not understand is that no emergency responders came, either time. I would have thought that the alarm was connected to emergency responders. This was concerning. There was no emergency, so we were fine. I just would have expected a fire truck at the least. I have not talked with the hotel yet, so there may be a good reason. We will definitely stay there again!

We booked this hotel because it was chosen as a room block for a wedding in Savannah. We paid 259 per night plus taxes and plus 45 per night to park. When we arrived to the room it was obvious it had seen better days. It shows severe signs of wear and tear. Spots and stains on the walls, laminate flooring is peeling and chipped, furniture with large scratches and splinters along the baseboards. Windows were so filthy you couldn’t see the view. To top it off the morning we left there were 2 roaches in our bathroom. A lady by the name of Kathy sent us a text upon arrival welcoming us to the hotel and to Savannah and inquired of us about the room. I responded and never received any further communication from her except on the day of our departure wishing us a safe trip home. I’m sure these are scripted texts. Savannah has so much nicer facilities in which to stay. Take it from us and avoid this place!! Also to note we paid 259 per night for a standard king room. I looked on the Desoto website on our second morning and for the Saturday night November 2 the standard king was listed as 189 per night. How is that??
