About the Hotel

Scottsdale is the place to go for art, shopping and nightlife in the Valley of the Sun. Now there's a hotel creating even more desire around the desert experience. The Saguaro has arrived, bringing with it a new look to where Old Town, the Arts district and Civic Center Mall meet. Bright, lush and vibrant, it's a fresh face amid Scottsdale's buzzing downtown scene. Guestrooms & Suites: The Saguaro experience begins, fittingly enough, outside amid the arid weather and brilliant sunlight of the Sonoran Desert. Each room exterior is accented by the color of a native desert flower, creating a visual spectrum throughout the resort grounds. Inside, your room's primary color is joined by contemporary and natural furnishings in wood and leather, including hand-crafted pieces imported from Mexico.

Reviews for Saguaro Scottsdale

Fantastic location!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The pools were lovely. Very spacious and had relaxing beds by the pool. Also, there was a quiet pool and a hammock. The rooms are spacious, but there needs to be more staff on the grounds. It would have felt more secure if there were staff on the grounds around at night. The location is perfect - a quiet, large park where they have a market on weekends, and also within walking distance to all the restaurants and shops.

Anywhere but here.

I reserved this hotel based on the images and testimonials. That was a significant error. Upon seeing my room, I approached the front desk to request an alternative accommodation or a refund, only to be informed that the hotel was fully occupied and that my reservation, made by credit card, was non-refundable. I contacted the firm online and was informed that they would not provide any refunds. This motel is antiquated, dilapidated, and unsightly.

Great new owners and the staff is great. They go out of their way to be helpful. Isabella took care of a large group of us and did a fantastic job. Handled our whole group over a 4 hour period and put up with us.Very attentive and brought in her colleagues to help with some Tech issues. Great day and we will come back Thanks

Monarch pool crew went above and beyond!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

A group of 20 of us stayed this March and for the past three, at the Monarch. We get together once a year so we need a venue to catch up. Isabella took great care of us, and we really appreciate her service. She kept the food and drink coming with an easy-going attitude. The TV in the cabana was old and broken so ... they installed a new TV set in the cabana!! This is service above and beyond.

Unprofessional and unapologetic staff.

This place is long past the glory days, but the location is about as close to Old Town Scottsdale as can be. The two different pools makes it an attractive choice for families. The grounds are adorned with palms and bougainvillea. However... The rooms are a kludge of cheap furniture, hodgie-podgie & amateurish "updates", too-small TVs, and bare white walls. The balcony is too narrow to stand fully outside. The couple of pieces of art in the room are totally random in content and placement. The shower has mildew stains and ugly gaps in the caulking. The hallways and stairwells are not cleaned regularly. The elevator wasn't vacuumed in the seven days we were here. I'll bet that orange earplug is still on the floor in that corner where it appeared our third day in. But we stayed, mainly because of location. Thought about moving but decided against it. Then it got worse. Our first couple of days, housekeeping came in and exchanged the linens and towels - a bit of a surprise these days because many places don't unless you ask. The did not refresh the coffee service the first day but managed to do so the second. The next three (3) days, they completely ignored our room. No exchange of linen, no refresh of coffee service, no trash removal. Nothing. And no, the DND was not on the door. So after the third missed day, we called guest services to complain and ask them to at least have someone remove the trash. We didn't care so much about sheets or towels, but the trash was piling up. We believed, after the phone call, that the matter would be attended to, and we went out to dinner. We returned to the room to find nothing done. Another call to guest services brought the response that the head of housekeeping said the records showed the room had been serviced every day. He actually asked, how did we know housekeeping hadn't serviced the room? (Um? Because the tip is still on the bed pillow?) And apparently, it was expected that we would be satisfied with that answer. The head of housekeeping couldn't even be bothered to come look at our room before declaring us liars. Guest services - they just didn't want to get involved. And that, folks, is how much regard they have for their guests: Guests are too much trouble. They all lie, anyway. Don't bother. Your experience may differ. But I will go a long, long way out of my way to never stay here again.
