When the property now known as The Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Seattle debuted in the Roaring Twenties, it marked the arrival of the Pacific Northwest – until then, hotels of that caliber were found east of Chicago. It hosted countless galas, debutante balls and presidential visits – JFK stayed here in 1961 – and, in 1979, joined the ranks of the National Register of Historic Places. Italian Renaissance architecture and Old World style meld into a centrally located Seattle landmark that hosts a AAA Four Diamond Award-winning restaurant and one of the city's oldest oyster bars.

Had the great pleasure of staying at this wonderful hotel for 3 weeks,There’s no standard like a Fairmont Standard ! In my eyes one of the best hotel chains in the world. From the decor, service, rooms and food this experience was first class all the way. I would like to personally thank these members of staff who made my stay so enjoyable. Tui on the front desk,Kassie on the restaurant desk, Jenny F in housekeeping,Shaun concierge,Dylan on the lobby bar,Arnouldo waiter, all of these people went above and beyond and always had a smile and a kind word. Thank you all and see you soon

Super clean rooms that have recently been updated. Lobby bar was an awesome experience with great food and service. Would certainly recommend this property to anyone looking for a fun night out with a great location in the middle of downtown Seattle.

I was lucky to get a complimentary upgrade to a Junior Suite (living room + bedroom). It felt very spacious and great. This hotel is 100 years old and located in ex University of Washington building. I loved it! Lots of charm. It has a nice sauna and jacuzzi. Pool is very shallow - great for kids but not so much for adults.

Travelling in a sprinter van with two young kids in downtown seattle could be extremely challenging. I was struggling to find an overnight parking spot but Medhi at the valet went above and beyond and secured a spot for me right in front of the building. Everyone at the valet team was extremely helpful.

The receptionists and the concierge were friendly, professional and kindly. They were the best the hotel offers. The Restauraunt George was a disappointment with their simple menu choices and the quality of foods was not what we expected. Our French onion soup was way too salty. The servers were generally grumpy. The lobby bar offers varieties in its drink menu. But again, their service staff we had was not friendly. Maybe he had a couple of bad days twice in a row. He was slow in taking orders and bringing out our drinks as well as the checks. No smiles either. The toilet area was smelly in our room. On the first day, the cleaners sprayed heavy perfume. But the days go by, we noticed the smell.. The bed sheet had a hole and sheets were really worn out. The carpet was old and not clean. There was hair in the bathtub which the cleaners didn't clean. On the last day after I checked out, I got stuck in the elevator for a few minutes. The elevator door didn't close completely and kept sounding the alarm. I tried to open the dood to get out. The door didn't move and no-one came to help even though the alarm was going and it was on the lobby level. I was truly scared of being stuck in the elevator. Luckily the door closed after a few minutes by itself and I was able to get off on my floor to get my luggages. The location is good but be careful with homeless issues within a vicinity.
