About the Hotel

Amara is a gem among the Sedona hotels. Perhaps you've heard about Sedona's stunning Red Rocks-they are a tad bit famous (for good reason). The scenery here is almost impossibly beautiful, as if an artist made the entire horizon his canvas. Fortunately for all who visit, the Red Rocks are very real and provide the stunning backdrop for our world-class boutique hotel, Amara Resort.

Reviews for Amara Resort and Spa

Great location, amenities, food and staff!

First trip to Sedona for a girls weekend getaway. Amara was a great choice! Friendly, helpful staff, comfortable rooms, amenities. Located right in Uptown, so it’s walking distance to many things, yet tucked away in the trees so you feel secluded at the resort. Dining at SaltRock Kitchen at Amara was by far the best food and service we had all weekend! Concierge made great recommendations for activities prior to our arrival and helped book our jeep tour with convenient pickup and drop off right at the resort!

Traveling Solo

The room was spacious and roomy. The fully stocked mini bar was a bonus for anyone who wanted alcoholic beverages or sodas as well as some snacks. I had brought my own so don't know about the prices. Traveling solo, it would have been nice to have personal tour guide services as part of the overall services offered because there is just so much to do and see. Salt Rock Restaurant had delicious food. Good size portions: however, if you're used to having leftovers, that won't happen here. I preferred the beer selection to trying the gourmet, handcrafted drinks. I did see several people use the pool during November as there was a heated sauna as well, but I didn't use it. They had an area with cornhole games and seating for couples wanting a little fun while drinking. Overall, a relaxing and secluded type of stay. I did use a booking service to get a better deal as prices where a bit high on their website itself. I did have difficulty locating it as I arrived at midnight and the whole town shut down by 9 pm for the light pollution which made it darker than I was used to, but I understand the reasoning and agree with the light pollution rules. I would suggest arriving during daylight hours if possible due to the winding road to get to the hotel at night was a bit scary, especially after driving 19 hours to get there with weather delays in New Mexico due to the first snow fall and several wrecks on the highway. If you're wanting a hotel close to the shopping strip, several restaurants/shops, as well as just the hub of the town, as well as a restaurant onsite, then this is definitely your place. The also have an onsite spa for that extra pampering. Very nice views and relaxing atmosphere. I would recommend for all the reasons mentioned above.

Very enjoyable stay in great location.

Just got back after a 4 day stay. Great location! Clean! Very happy with the staff! Food at the restaurant was very good and bartenders were great! We had a couple of minor issues. 1) Went to the spa twice. Again, staff was great! Unfortunately, the men's steam room was not working both times and the non-handicapped shower was also out of order. They suggest you get there early to enjoy the steam room so, it was a little disappointing. 2) We had a difficult time getting bar or kitchen service at the pool. The process is to text your order to a phone number on a sign. We texted the number a 4-5 times over 2 days and except for one time, the orders seemed to get lost. I shared with them that the process seems to be flawed. If not for these 2 issues, I would have given them 5 stars.

VISIT THE BAR!

We had the perfect stay at Amara! Very close to everything. Our favorite part of our stay was ending our evening at the bar with a handcrafted cocktail. Kenny and Javi made the best drinks. Both were very personable and friendly. Looking forward to visiting Amara again!
