Reviews for ION Luxury Adventure Hotel

The best hotel we stayed during our trip in Iceland

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I'm surprised this amazing spot has only a 3.5-star rating. We stayed here our first night after landing in Iceland, and it was hands down the best hotel experience we had during our 9-night trip. We switched hotels every day and truly regret not staying longer at ION. The hotel offers incredible value for what it provides. One of our favorite spots was the Northern Lights Lounge—an incredibly stylish room with breathtaking views. The sauna was fantastic, the rooms had stunning views, and the meals were delicious. The customer service was exceptional, easily a 5+. Excellent job, and we’ll definitely be back for a longer stay next time!

Wow, what a wonderful hotel and experience!

Everything was perfect about our stay at the ION Adventure Hotel. From the moment we walked into the ION Adventure Hotel we knew we were in for an experience when we were greeted by Siri, a front desk associate. Siri greeted us with a warm smile, offered us a complimentary glass of sparking white wine, and placed us immediately in an amazing room. Thank you Siri for an incredible first impression. The hotel is so unique in many ways from other hotel's we stayed at during our two week stay in Iceland. The hotel rooms are spacious and so quiet, which provides a home like feel, and a perfect night sleep. Worth noting: fantastic shower! The rooms are equipped with everything you need in a hotel room. The ION Adventure Hotel also has an amazing & relaxing (large) hot spring pool. A very nice experience for us during a cold, rainy day in Iceland. The ION Adventure Hotel was our favorite hotel during our two weeks in Iceland. Thanks again for a wonderful experience.

Lovely stay

We were welcomed with a smile by Hector. The rooms were charming and clean. The surroundings and the view were fantastic. We enjoyed dinner even with its limited menu. Absolutely top-notch staff and we enjoyed chatting with our seasoned server, Richard. Warm geothermal pool with a nice quaint relaxation room and dry sauna. Looking forward to returning

Loved it, highly recommend.

We absolutely love this hotel. After reading some of the reviews we were slightly concerned we had made the wrong choice, but it was perfect and would return in a heart beat. The reception area is gorgeous and we were greeted by very friendly staff who made us feel very welcome. Our room was small but totally adequate, it was immaculate, comfortable and had wonderful views. The hotel is in a remote location so we ate here and the food was lovely, it is expensive, but so is the whole of Iceland. We made use of their outdoor hot pool which was fabulous, especially as it was snowing which made everything look magical. There is the power station close by and in view from some parts of the hotel but we found this extremely interesting and it did not spoil our experience whatsoever. I would highly recommend this hotel and I am hoping to return again one day to see the northern lights and Iceland in another season from this absolutely stunning hotel.

Great hotel, great hot tub pool, great meals

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Great hotel. Great dinner. Hiking trail behind the hotel was excellent. Our room was perfect and the bed was comfortable. Excellent view. The buffet was good and dinners were delicious. Staff welcoming. The hot tub pool and sauna was the best part. My only suggestion- you need your own rental car. All of the adventures - you need the transportation to get to. You can pay for a private tour but this may be too costly. The hotel is 15 minutes or so off the golden circle. There is nothing near the hotel. You will be doing a lot of driving when in Iceland.
