Beautiful hotel , excellent service from the moment we arrived. Excellent breakfast variety with special shout out to Executive Chef Sebastiano Giangregorio for his great service and knowledge on halal practices in the kitchen. Perfect location in Myeongdong with multiple halal food options nearby.

Don't expect 5 star and they don't honor AMEX Platinum upgrades

Although Lotte is a 5 star hotel, it really is not. The lobby is big and busy like Grand Central. It doesn't feel luxurious but rather hectic. I will be returning to Seoul but will DEFINITELY not return to Lotte. It has the stars but not the level of service you'd expect from a true 5 star hotel. There are many nicer hotels like Shilla out there. Don't waste your time and money here. Positives - Comfortable beds - Daily maid service - Connected to the Lotte food court and Lotte shopping center - Fairly central location if you like Myeong Dong Negatives - Crazy large and big lobby that doesn't feel welcoming or luxurious. There are many people standing around but they are for show. I was struggling with 5 suitcases with my daughter and none of the many idle bodies offered to help - You are handed paper vouchers to use vs a welcome drink - TINY TINY rooms - wow I was shocked how tiny the rooms were - Breakfast is good but it feels like you are fighting for food at a summer camp. Not worth it - Beautiful lounge bar except the wait staff are not well trained and there are dirty dishes everywhere. Despite how it looks, it felt more like I was at a loud Irish pub vs a luxurious hotel lounge. I was only reminded when I got the bill

Good Hotel, Great Location

This was our first trip to Seoul for my wife and 2 teenage daughters. We wanted a higher end hotel located in a central location and Lotte Hotel Seoul was recommended to us. This hotel does not offer adjoining rooms or larger suites so we opted for 2 deluxe rooms on the 22nd floor. After reading many of the reviews ahead of time, some key themes can be confirmed after our 5 night stay. The check-in process was smooth and we were greeted warmly with plenty of assistance with luggage. We were surprised however to learn that they had reserved 2 rooms with a single bed in each room rather than 2 beds in each of the 2 rooms as the picture on the website indicated. Evidently reference to "twin beds" can be confused as a single twin bed so ensure you are confirm what you are booking. Having said this, they quickly course corrected and got us the right rooms that were essentially next to each other. Can confirm the pro's. Location is in the heart of Myeongdong with the palace and Myeongdong shopping district within an easy walk. The subway station is accessible through the hotel and the large shopping mall attached offers a terrific food fair. The hotel is also central with all the major tourist attractions within a short subway ride away. Staff were professional and friendly. Ordered room service on our first nigh and it was the quickest service I have ever seen. Rooms were functional with an unexpected benefit of having some 110V outlets not requiring a converter. There is good bakery in the lobby with both Starbucks and Tim Hortons around the corner. Can also confirm the con's. While the hotel in general has the DNA (and price tag) and feel of a 5-star luxury hotel, the rooms are dated, fatigued, and require an update. The professional pictures on the website definitely provide more justice than reality. There were many scratches and dents on the walls, fixtures broken or dangling off the wall, and furniture that appears dirty/worn. The lighting and curtain controls were high-tech but a bit complicated to figure out without an explanation. Overall, expected a lot more for the cost and would recommend to management that a refresh is desperately needed. Would still recommend this hotel as the pro's outweigh the con's. We enjoyed our stay and would likely consider staying again. I feel the value fell just a little short of the high price tag and have experienced much superior 5-star stays in our many travels.

Perfect

The service was excellent and staff was well trained. If you ever come to Korea, select this hotel. I would like to see some chairs and sofas in the reception area. They have a lot of empty space and no place to sit. Attached to this hotel is a full mall and restaurants. But I have that’s why they didn’t feel like they needed any chairs, but I highly recommend to have some sofas and chairs even when you’re waiting you have to stand up and wait for the vehicle to come and pick you up. Is a small recommendation, but I was very happy with the food and Service.

Lotte Hotel Seoul

I was very fortunate to have experienced staying at the Lotte Hotel Seoul during my recent business trip to Seoul in November. The lobby that greeted you was very impressive and luxurious - and the staff upon arrival were very welcoming. The room I was assigned to was spacious and well appointed. My room came with access to breakfast in the executive lounge, and although the selection may be a bit limited, but the view was really breathtaking! Having this access really makes a different especially after a long day out and you return for some quick refreshments to unwind with a spectacular view of Seoul city skyline! Location wise - this hotel is very central and accessible to anywhere either by foot or even the subway! And it is just beside a mall, and walking distances to other attractions as the Cheonggycheon stream, Dongdaemun and Myeongdong markets and many more! My only (and this is a personal thought) reservations to the hotel is how one could feel rather 'cold' or unwelcomed as he enters the lobby - Yes the initial arrival experience was a wow and rather expected, but on a daily basis, as one enters and leaves the lobby, there is no recognition from staff - they seemed to be too pre-occupied with their own tasks. The size of the lobby too plays a factor in this I guess, as the staffers are too scattered around.
