I was really happy that I chose this hotel to spend weekend with my family. As a IHG Platinum member, my status was fully recognized with excellent service. I like the pre-arrival communication - not only because of the communication but also they do listen to your need and try to arrange the best. I was lucky enough to have a Pearl River View Suite where the view is just the same as the hotel advertisement. The hotel location just in the heart of Lujiazui, a fair walking distance from the subway station and it is close enough to go to Puxi via tunnels. Breakfast is a 5-star hotel standard but might not be that attractive to locals By the way, the gym was on the top floor with an infinity swimming pool

This stay was for celebrating the anniversary with my girlfriend and we were happy to choose The Regent Pudong. It's over our expectation of Regent, what i want to mentioned is Rachel's smile and her professional on hospitality. We checked in smoothly and Rachel recommended some places that we can try some local food ,take pretty pohots and so on.Thank you Regent and Rachel for providing such good service.🥰🥰🥰

This hotel has stunning view of the Oriental Pearl tower. That’s all about it. Language barrier was there for sure. Upon check-in, I felt like my check-in process was a bit bumpy and rushed. I was the only one who was at the reception. I mean, front office was okay. But, communication at restaurants was problematic. And the food was one of the most bland tasting food I’ve ever had at a 5 starred hotel. Breakfast was meh so was the fine Cantonese restaurant called Shangxi. In a nutshell, food here was almost catastrophic. There was another thing that bothered me during the stay was the smoke. There was a strong small of the cigarette. Super unpleasant. I really dont think this Regent Shanghai Pudong meets the standards at all. Do I want to come again? I will consider somewhere else.

Nice view great location and very conveniences especially if taken taxi back from the bund side. The room is very large and the bed is very comfortable. However, if I can give negative stars for the services I would give it. I booked through Fine Hotel & Resort which guaranteed a room upgrade and late 4pm check out. Upon check in at 2.30pm, the room was not ready which I understand. Then I went out and back again at 3.30pm and the room still not ready and the staff cannot tell me when it would be ready. I waited patiently until 4.10pm then asked and still the room was not ready until my friend demanded to talk to the manager then suddenly the room was ready at 4.15pm. No apologies or any feedback from the management on the late check-in. Upon check out, I received a box of amenities and the staff did not say anything except this is a gift for you. They also forgot the deduct USD100 credit from Fine Hotel & Resort so I have to remind them. Later I emailed the hotel general manager asking if he/she know about my late check-in as I had already filed a complaint but not received any feedback/responses on my complaint. He replied that he is aware and he explicitly mentioned that apologies has been extended (which I assume it was the box of amenities that the hotel staff did not tell me what is it for) , and with the room upgrade to 88sqm and 3pm late check out so he hope that I had a good stay. The way he responded feel as if this is the favour that the hotel has given to me already (implying I upgrade you and give you late check out already why are you complaining ). The attitude is very bad and no wonder the service has been sub-standard vs other Regents.

We are fortunate to have Marriott titanium and Hilton diamond so we typically plan our stays around these two mega hotel chains. This time though, I took advantage of a Capital One Premier Collection Hotel and Resorts promotion last October and made a booking for the Regent Shanghai Pudong for the following July. Regent is part of the IHG family and I realize my platinum status probably won't go too far on upgrade requests. I want to give special thanks to Robin Wu and Sheldon Bao for their excellent communication before our departure and for a Wow factor in Shanghai. We paid approximately 800 CNY for an upgrade to the Pearl Tower Suite and the view was simply priceless!!! Our family just had afternoon tea the previous day at the Shanghai Tower (highly recommended to avoid the crowd) on a cloudy/rainy day and the visibility was not the greatest. In our opinion, we preferred the sight of the Pearl and Shanghai Tower right in front of us from the comfort of the hotel room even more. I also booked another room with my IHG points for my mom and she was impressed with the size and quality of the accommodation!!! Our kids took advantage of the swimming pool and the giant whirlpool in the afternoon and had a fantastic time to cool off from the hot weather outside. Unfortunately, our flight left early the next morning so we didn't get a chance to try out the breakfast. Again, we appreciate the efforts of Robin, Sheldon, and the rest of the fantastic staff for an outstanding and memorable stay!!!
