Inn at Shelburne Farms

What can I say about Shelburne Farms? The inn is luxurious, while at the same time, evocative of a simpler time in the past. I feel like a Vanderbilt when I stay here. Playing billiards in the game room, enjoying live piano music in the library, spending the day in the picturesque gardens with incredible views of Lake Champlain and the Adirondack mountains, are all experiences that can’t be had anywhere else. The staff is attentive and professional. The dining experience is pleasant and unique. It’s such a memorable experience.

We booked the Louis XVI room. When we arrived we found blood all over the toilet - it could not have been cleaned. I’ve had better showers in the Amazon and the mattress on the double bed was ridiculously soft. The restaurant was extremely disappointing. On the plus side, the setting of the Inn is gorgeous, the Inn building is impressive, and the farm stunning. The cheese tour was great. But we could not recommend a stay here - very uncomfortable.

Fabulous stay. Inn is a bit outdated but clean and lovely. Dinner and breakfast at the restaurant were excellent. Grounds are stunning with beautiful lake views which you can enjoy while sipping coffee or a cocktail, amazing walking trails and fun to have the farm nearby.

This is a grand hotel staffed by friendly and knowledgeable professionals. It is a not to be missed wonderful experience to stay here and to eat here. Particularly nice is the terrace of the restaurant that offers beautiful views of the grounds and the lake. My wife and I also enjoyed the muffins and coffee available from 7-9 AM, and the afternoon tea from 3:30-4:30. We are hoping to be able to return soon!

Turn of the century country estate turned into the most lovely inn…..spectacular grounds, excellent food, wonderful service….it brings you into being in another world….a world before air conditioners and TVs. It’s pristine and beautiful….its like being in a dream.
