My wife and I just stayed at Fonteverde. This is a lovely facility with a rich history of their healing thermal waters. While the facility hosts some day-spa guests, those staying at the hotel have additional access to the private outdoor thermal pool that is magnificent. We each had massages and took advantage of the included morning fitness activity. The resort is about 90 minutes from Florence or Siena, and about 50 minutes from Montepulciano. Our stay was unexpectedly cut short by a day and manger Christina was extremely professional in adjusting the commitment accordingly. The staff members were uniformly helpful and friendly. Well worth the visit for a spa experience in Tuscany.

My wife and I were looking forward to staying three nights at this highly-rated resort. I had made a reservation for a junior suite valley view with terrace. I was taken to a room that looked exactly like the deluxe valley view with balcony that is depicted in the website. I complained that my room lacked the larger terrace and a sofa that was clearly shown in the picture describing the junior suite. I was assured that no, I was in the right room. I showed the receptionist the picture of the suite in my reservation and told her that only a week before, I had called to specifically discuss the difference between the two rooms and was told that while I was definitely in the right room, they would move me to a different one that looked exactly like the one I had reserved but was the same room class. This new and larger room was located in a different wing. The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was good. We only ate at the hotel restaurant one night (which was ok) as we walked to town (about 10 minutes) and ate at La Fontanella for two of the three nights. When I checked out I looked at the bill and noticed that my one dinner charge was duplicated. When I challenged this the receptionist quickly took it off my bill. Were these two incidents honest mistakes? I am not sure but would certainly not return here.

This was a great place to visit as a birthday celebration. It’s a bit deceiving that for the pool only admission it’s only the downstairs inside/outside that you can use. We thought we could use the one upstairs too, but were told that we couldn’t. Still very nice, very hot and beware the flies/insects that hover all over the water and round your heads.

Amazing location with breathtaking view, beautiful structure with plenty of terrific services (SPA, swimming pool, etc.), excellent restaurant, comfortable and elegant rooms, competent and helpful staff. A flawless, absolutely recommended experience!

A beautiful hotel in the Tuscan hills, right from when you drive in the gates you can tell you’ve made a great decision. Old wood charm mixed with lovely facilities. The pool areas are wonderful our room was large and well appointed and so efficiently maintained during our stay. Having breakfast on the terrace in the morning was so relaxing. My one and only criticism is that although the food in the main restaurant was good the service was not up to the standard you would expect from a hotel of this class and cost something that other guests concurred with.
