Grand Hotel Continental Siena

My husband and I only organised lunch at this hotel on a day's visit whilst holidaying in Italy. My husband is elderly with walking difficulties so we needed a base whilst sightseeing in Siena. Even though we weren't sleeping here the staff were so wonderful we returned for afternoon tea. The hotel is beautiful, close to all the main sights, the food is excellent and presented in the nicest manner. Laura on reception made sure our short stay was so comfortable and it was so easy to chat with her in English. She was so kind. Our taxi for the return train journey to Florence was late, so as she was finishing her shift she gave up the taxi she had booked for herself so we would get to the station in time. Believe me, my husband and I have stayed in countless superior hotels in Europe, America and Canada and there aren't many that give such superlative service. Amazing location and the views from our room were stunning. We were a small group of 2-3 rooms and stayed for two nights. Everything but the breakfast offering met expectations for our two nights and the location simply cannot be matched. The breakfast overall is a 3 star offering.

This hotel is a marvel! Amiable staff , gorgeous rooms, fantastic amenities guarantee an incredible stay! The location is superb. Everything was absolutely perfect and the food in the restaurant was outstanding! The front desk was helpful to a tea and they were always smiling and wonderful. We had an amazing breakfast each morning and on our last night in Siena enjoyed a marvelous meal of Tuscan cuisine in the lovely dining room. The chef is very very good as was the amazing service in the restaurant!

The hotel is very nice! Everything is in high standards, from the incredibly high quality staff to the well designed areas in the hotel. The bar is a wonderful place to sit and talk meanwhile planning the next day. Also, the wine tasting experience is a must. It is about an hour and the master of the wines, Massimo, does an incredible job to explain the world of wines (especially in Tuscany). We will come back to Siena, and to the Gran Hotel Continental.

Fantastic facility, super friendly and accommodating staff, great breakfast every morning, and perfect location = a winning combo while staying in the great city of Siena! We greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone....!
