Fullerton Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 12 hours ago

From the time we arrived to the time we left our experience was unbelievable The hotel history is amazing, the staff are fantastic, the food very good, we were given a room upgrade that we have to say it’s the best I have ever stayed in. We will certainly be looking forward to coming back in the near future.

Best stay in Singapore

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 12 hours ago

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore provided me the best luxurious services one could have asked for. Starting from the breakfast in the Straits Club Lounge to the evening tea, everything was like a paradise. Special mention to Quinn, who helped us a lot in the Straits Club Lounge to get our vegetarian food options. He was very kind and helpful. Overall stay in the Fullerton if you’re in Singapore!

Really loved the stay and experience!

We went towards the end of CNY and the whole hotel was dressed up for the occasion. The hotel with its old world looks, huge reception, jade waterfall etc. is grand and beautiful to say the least. There is opulence that greets you followed by very cordial staff. From check-in to check-out; it is really smooth and comfortable. We stayed for 2N in a bay facing room and it was worth it. We have a toddler and thus dined in room on both nights. The food options as also portions are great and we loved it. The morning breakfast spread is nice but would have loved some Indian options (they had vadai, upma if I recollect; which still is great compared to other hotels) or veg sandwich options. but then this would be just something trivial as most of SGP hotels that I have stayed have similar options. Now in the room-service; we had exceptionally great experience thanks to Daniel who was meticulous, professional and always had a smile. His persona and enthusiasm must be really highlighted. Thank you again. Overall, we are really happy with the stay and experience and will recommend others to visit this hotel. Reg. proximity to key bay points etc, these anyway others or the website will highlight

Beautiful hotel, FABULOUS staff.

We stayed at the Fullerton Hotel for 3 nights at the end of a month long SE Asian adventure and it was a great way to wrap the trip in a bow. The hotel is historic and beautiful, the former general post office. It is in a terrific location close to Marina Bay, Chinatown, attractions and nightlife. We had a beautiful and comfortable suite and enjoyed the many high quality amenities but it is the hotel staff that really shine! Mr. Tan and the concierges greeted us daily and helped with dining, sightseeing, and transportation suggestions (and even some band-aids for our blistered tootsies.) The lovely, kind staff at the Straits Club (Ambri, Quinn and others) made us feel comfortable and relaxed, it was our home away from home.

Disappointing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

This clearly is a grand hotel with amazing architecture. Our room was absolutely huge. We had a separate closet area with 2 wardrobes and a very large bathroom with an intelligent toilet, a double vanity unit, a huge bath but disappointingly, a small shower in comparison. Stairs led down to a luxurious bedroom which was beautifully carpeted and had two very comfortable beds, a sofa and table as well as additional storage. I am loathed to raise the race or class card but interactions with staff after the very pleasant checking-in phase were somewhat subdued. This was largely noted at breakfast or when exiting or returning to the hotel. We were barely acknowledged when clearly other guests were treated much better. This was very odd considering we paid the going rate. An example of this was when we were seated at breakfast and hot drinks orders were taken which never arrived. This meant going to find a coffee myself, when I had finished eating, much to the annoyance of staff. The spread was amazing but waffles and, especially watermelon, were very slow to be replenished. We had reserved a stay of 3 nights and realising that our flight on the day we would be checking out on would be late at night, we asked for a late check-out the first day we arrived. We never received a definitive answer and were told to check with reception the next day which we did. We never received a satisfactory response even though we advised we were happy to pay for the privilege. I even emailed the hotel manager but never received a response. It was not till late afternoon on our last day that we were eventually told we could have a late check-out but would need to pay an additional SGD 500+ (the daily rate) for an extra 7 hours. This is absolutely shocking. We did pay, purely for the comfort factor and to avoid the need to hang around the lobby area for hours. Our final bill also included daily breakfast charges and SGD 500 tax. Breakfast was supposed to be included in the daily rate and should not have been charged for again. We have been very fortunate to have travelled the world extensively and stayed in some amazing hotels. We had just experienced a wonderful stay in Koh Samui before arriving in Singapore. Overall, we very disappointed with the customer service after having thought we were in for a memorable stay.
