Beautiful but disappointing

I will start with the positives. We were so excited to stay 2 nights at such a beautiful historic palace. It is a very impressive hotel. We had one of the best greetings from the front desk at check in so we were very excited for a 5 star experience. The breakfast, lunch and dinner in bar were delicious and the staff attentive. Our disappointments were hard to get over. Our toilet didn’t work and after looking at it we were told no one could fix it until morning. That is 12 hours with no toilet and we had to get up, get dressed and go to the toilet in the lobby during the night and am. Our room was not cleaned upon return from day. The AC never cooled below 24 even though they came to look at it daily. And lastly the room and sheets are very damp which makes all your clothes damp in suitcase. I did go in and look at the reviews closer and it appears the AC and dampness are a common theme. I did nicely bring up our concerns with the front desk manager after not sensing any emergency by the night staff. He also didn’t seem that upset but sent us a bottle of champagne and cheese as apology. What we would have liked was for them to bring in maintenance at 8pm and fix our toilet and air conditioning our first night. We were shocked and saddened that we paid $1000 for this bad experience.

Amazing place

We had to stop here since our car broke down, the people were amazing and were super nice letting us fix the car even though we did not stay here! We were amazed by the kindness of these people :) thank you very much to this lovely staff and being so kind!

Appalling Service - Strongly Do Not Recommend

I recently tried to make a reservation at the restaurant at Palácio de Seteais and was appalled by the service provided by their manager, Victor Lucas. Last month, I reached out to secure a booking for a specific date and was told it was too early to reserve and that I should contact them again two weeks in advance. When it was time to reserve, I contacted Victor Lucas directly, but he never replied. I then contacted the restaurant, only to be informed by Victor Lucas that my reservation could not be accommodated, without any explanation as to why. I tried to understand the situation and asked for an alternative date I could reserve, but I never received a response from Victor Lucas again. This level of unprofessionalism and complete lack of communication is utterly unacceptable. I strongly advise against dining at the restaurant at Palácio de Seteais, especially under the management of Victor Lucas. Save yourself the frustration and choose a venue with more reliable and respectful customer service.

Friendly staff poor accommodations

Hotel under renovation and had very poor accommodations. Rooms lacked furniture, several of the ballrooms were closed, gardens looked in taken care of. Pool was under construction and not usable. Never made aware of this when hotel was booked.

The most perfect palacio in Sintra. Excellent location. Excellent service and very friendly staff from reception, restaurant, housekeeping to management. A location full of history, in Sintra yet very quiet and private. Great rooms, excellent beds. Outstanding food.
