There is no fourth wall in villas at Ladera – instead, there is the jaw-dropping backdrop of the Pitons, two mountainous volcanic spires that attract adventure-seekers from across the world. A faint tropical breeze wafts from the Caribbean Sea far below through netting on a four-poster bed carved from polished tropical hardwood. Incentive to leave your room can be found in chef Nigel Mitchel's creative interpretation of traditional island fare – try the roast conch served with organic vegetables from the neighboring plantation.

This is a Bucket List must have. The rooms and views are breathtaking. The staff are so nice, and the service is spot on, and food is delicious. This was such a wonderful trip. St. Lucia is a beautiful island. There was not one negative or mean person that we came in contact with. Island friendly people. We will be back some day.

We had an incredible week at Ladera Resort. The views from our room as well as the restaurant are breathtaking. We just stayed in our room the first day to enjoy the views and the pool - so relaxing! The people are fabulous. The people and the service were one of the best we have experienced in our travels. They genuinely care about you and making your experience the best it can be. We loved the hiking trails right at the resort which was convenient. The treehouse and Rum Bar are unique! Plus, the town of Soufriere has so much to offer with tours of the mud baths, mineral baths, waterfalls and sulfer springs. We spent 2 days on Sugar Beach which was expensive to rent chairs & umbrella ($100 each person) but worth it for the blue water, white sand and resort drinks/food. We almost stayed at Sugar Beach Resort but so glad we stayed at Ladera - no experience is like it with no 4th wall and open to nature, fresh air and wonderful views. Highly recommend!

I came here by myself for some rest, after too many trials in quick succession. While the drive to the hotel was windy and stomach churning, my arrival at the hotel was amazing. I was greeted by Tanesha and she was so kind as I was not feeling well from the drive. I then met such wonderful staff every single day. I wrote down everyone’s names and now I can’t find the note! Tenderly was the manager who was amazing and the ladies at the front desk and restaurant were wonderful. My cleaning lady was also kind. I tried to learn some Creole which I think made the staff laugh —in a good way! The spa was phenomenal and I had the same woman twice for deep tissue massages—maybe Olga?? I had a corner room over the parking lot but facing the ocean and the Pitons. It was two stories and a private plunge pool, which I used every day. The second floor bed was surrounded by a mosquito net and the bathroom and shower was so pretty and carved with wood and mosaic tiles. You could hear car noises from the road, as there is a speed bump right near the entrance of the hotel where people slow down and then motorcycles rev up their engines to go fast. But, I focused on the night time, singing, crickets, and tree frogs to fall asleep. I rarely left my room other than for meals because everything I needed: peace, and the view, was all found in my room. I did go to the Hotel Choclat for dinner one night, and I did enjoy their restaurant more than the dinner menu at Ladera. I also did a morning at the botanic Gardens, which was beautiful. It was small but a local attraction that was worth it and wasn’t too far from the hotel. I didn’t get down to the beach as I didn’t want to travel far from the hotel and I didn’t miss it. Looking out over the ocean every day from my room was spectacular. Although I came home with a few mosquito bites, I didn’t notice it when I was there. They also light mosquito coils in your room every night, which I definitely think helps. All in all, St. Lucia was everything, I thought it would be…with a few rainstorms, and double rainbows after. Thank you, Ladera Team. The room and staff made it great. Also, to my fellow Americans that complained about things (and I overheard quite a few whilst I was there): Whatever you want to complain about: don’t. Realize before you speak that you are complaining about entitled, 1st world problems, in a country where people are not as economically fortunate as you are. This country and the staff community at the resort could not have been more kind and gracious doing their jobs. Know that you are in a jungle-type place and yes there will be bugs and some geckos in your room, and not everything might be perfect for you. But remember, not a lot of people can afford such beauty at Ladera. So take a deep breath and relax. Don’t make their jobs harder. -Lisa

Review for Ladera Resort Our stay at Ladera Resort was absolutely unforgettable! Our suite was beyond incredible, with breathtaking views that felt like something out of a dream. The unique indoor/outdoor accommodations truly made for a once-in-a-lifetime experience—we felt completely immersed in the beauty of St. Lucia. Sugar Beach was just a short ride away, and the snorkeling there was stunning, with vibrant marine life and crystal-clear water. The food at the resort was delicious, though dinner service could be a bit slow at times. However, the impeccable service throughout our stay more than made up for it—10/10! If I could give 100 stars, I absolutely would. The excursions were well-organized, and the drivers were fabulous. I highly recommend the Soufrière Experience for a perfect mix of adventure and culture. We also loved the on-site hiking trail, which offered fantastic views. And after a day of exploring, the main pool was the perfect place to cool off and relax. A few standout experiences: The Friday night Fish Fry is an absolute must! It provided an authentic Saint Lucian meal served in traditional serve ware, making it a true cultural experience. We also loved the Tuesday evening country music performance—Allen Stone was an incredible singer with an engaging and fun performance that made the night extra special. Ladera is truly a magical place, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return. If you’re looking for a luxurious, immersive, and unforgettable getaway, this is it!

Ladera is amazing - gorgeous location with the best views and a very well run hotel. From the moment of arrival until departure, all staff were welcoming and friendly - nothing is too much trouble. Our room with three walls had a stunning view and hot tub and was very comfortable. The swimming pool was cool but beautiful and the restaurant and bar had brilliant views and excellent food. The recently opened spa was lovely and the garden tour very interesting. We used the free beach shuttle to Sugar Beach which is beautiful with good snorkelling and swimming. The trails in the hotel grounds are well planned and give great views of the Pitons.

My boyfriend and I spent a week at Ladera Resort in St. Lucia, West Indies, this past October. It is a beautiful resort with incredibly attentive and friendly staff. I would like to specifically mention Chef Orlando Satchell. He made an already special stay at Ladera even more wonderful. The room we stayed in was utterly incredible. The view of the ocean flanked by the Pitons, with the moon casting a path on the sea below was magic. It was an incredibly romantic, relaxing vacation which neither one of us wanted to end.
