About the Hotel

There is no fourth wall in villas at Ladera – instead, there is the jaw-dropping backdrop of the Pitons, two mountainous volcanic spires that attract adventure-seekers from across the world. A faint tropical breeze wafts from the Caribbean Sea far below through netting on a four-poster bed carved from polished tropical hardwood. Incentive to leave your room can be found in chef Nigel Mitchel's creative interpretation of traditional island fare – try the roast conch served with organic vegetables from the neighboring plantation.

Reviews for Ladera Resort

Unforgettable stay and views

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

We had an unforgettable stay at Ladera Resort. From the moment you enter, the friendly staff makes feel welcomed. Every staff member makes you feel at home. Throughout our stay, they will call us by our last name. That was a very nice personal touch. Our open air suite, with plunge pool and stunning views of the Pitons was one of a kind experience . I loved waking up in the morning to the sound of birds and stargazing at night. We also enjoyed the couples massage session which was in an open air room facing the rainforest with a heated pool. It was a highlight for me! If you are looking for a beautiful resort to stay with over the top service. I highly recommend Ladera resort.

Best Solo Birthday Trip Ever!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

A colleague had told me about the Ladera resort some years back. I kept it on my radar and decided to treat myself for my birthday. First, the beauty of the resort exceeds the pics on the website. It MUST be experienced. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by Tanesha (Front Desk), a delicious drink and a mint scented cool towel. It only got better and better as I slowly took in my surroundings: lush and colorful vegetation, peace and serenity. Every staff member encountered was pleasant and helpful. I reserved a petit Piton suite (open air room) with the heated plunge pool; it was spacious, comfortable and every morning I woke up to a beautiful view! Champagne in my room the first night so of course I'm already in heaven. I go to the onsite restaurant Dasheen and am met by the bubbly, always smiling/positive energy of Ms. Lee (Dasheen hostess). Just seeing her face everyday made me feel at home like I'm about to sit down and eat with my family. The service and the servers in the restaurant are top notch - you don't wait long for anything. The food was fabulous and overseen by Executive Chef Nigel. I experienced the private cooking demonstration with Chef Nigel and wanted to bring him home with me so I can get that exceptional cooking every night - I was so spoiled! Normally I don't take pictures of my food but during this trip, I made exceptions. Still dreaming about the food (shrimp, chicken, fish oh my!) Also appreciated the birthday desserts I received too! This was a solo trip to celebrate my birthday. I booked a, few excursions (Soufriere experience, ziplining, private cooking demonstration), went to the beach and experienced Leve, the onsite spa and had the full body massage treatment. The excursions and interaction with the Ladera staff helped me learn about the culture and history of St. Lucia (something I really appreciated so much). I faced a fear of heights on my ziplining excursion (thanks to Greg and Dalton). I experienced the mud bath, walked around inside an active volcano crater. In the backdrop, that beautiful view of the Pitons. This birthday trip was AMAZING! I am definitely planning to return to the Ladera resort. Would recommend this resort to family and friends, really anyone who wants an exceptional experience.

Friends celebrating a 79th birthday with an amazing stay!

Ladera resort has the most exquisite hospitality I have ever experienced. From the moment I reserved the room until the moment I hugged all of our newly made friends goodbye, everyone made sure we had a perfect visit. There's not enough space to talk about all of the wondrous things that we did- from hiking on the beautifully manicured grounds, to a sunset cruise, to a farm to table experience with Chef Nigel, to watching breathtaking sunsets of the Pitons from our pool. It was ALL perfect and totally enjoyable. The food is marvelous, the beds comfortable, the views are stunning! But honestly, the staff at Ladera are the true gems of the resort. It was a spectacular stay!

Sort Of Like Camping (Not Glamping)

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

If you like camping, then you will like the indoor/outdoor concept of the resort. Of course, I know that there are better places for camping than St Lucia. That being said, the rooms are dated and since there are no windows there is just dirt and dust and bugs (don't turn on a light after dark). Bathrooms are not 5 star; problems with hot water, poor lighting, and a variety of other issues. Also, staff workshops are located directly under some rooms and so privacy and silence are out of question (I didn't want to be awakened at the crack of dawn while on vacation!). The view from the property is one of the best- if not the best- on the island. Reception and restaurant staff were very mostly friendly. Food was good- better than average for the Caribbean and definitely some of the best on the island. Fitness room was adequate and not crowded ever. Hotel swimming pool and pool areas seem like an afterthought and could use some real improvement. But why bother with the pool when there are plenty of great beaches nearby. Overall, not nearly as good as expected and not worthy of many of the reviews. I would not go back and I would suggest if you are going, that you limit your stay to 2-3 night max for the experience...and then move directly down the mountain to the beautiful and full service Viceroy Sugar Beach Resort for a better island vacation.

Exceptional experience.

What an excellent experience. Room and the views are magnificent. Service is exceptional. The staff is going above and beyond. Special thanks to Swithvie who works there. She went above and beyond organizing us everything we needed. Best beaches and restaurants in the area. Definitely recommend this resort.

My boyfriend and I spent a week at Ladera Resort in St. Lucia, West Indies, this past October. It is a beautiful resort with incredibly attentive and friendly staff. I would like to specifically mention Chef Orlando Satchell. He made an already special stay at Ladera even more wonderful. The room we stayed in was utterly incredible. The view of the ocean flanked by the Pitons, with the moon casting a path on the sea below was magic. It was an incredibly romantic, relaxing vacation which neither one of us wanted to end.
