About the Hotel

There is no fourth wall in villas at Ladera – instead, there is the jaw-dropping backdrop of the Pitons, two mountainous volcanic spires that attract adventure-seekers from across the world. A faint tropical breeze wafts from the Caribbean Sea far below through netting on a four-poster bed carved from polished tropical hardwood. Incentive to leave your room can be found in chef Nigel Mitchel's creative interpretation of traditional island fare – try the roast conch served with organic vegetables from the neighboring plantation.

Stunning Views and Exceptional Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

If you are looking for a relaxing get away and being in touch with nature, look no further than Ladera! My husband and I recently stayed here in the beginning of January. Not only were we met with the most stunning views and accommodations, but with the most incredible staff. I traveled while 20 weeks pregnant, and I have never felt more at ease. Front desk staff (especially Tanisha) were always looking out and making sure we were comfortable during our stay. Definitely take advantage of the yoga classes with stunning views (yay Anson!), and don't miss out on breakfast (ask for a chocolate croissant). Pool chairs were limited at Ladera, however they offered free shuttles to 2 local beaches. They have a partnership with one of the beaches and we were very well taken care of during our day trip. If you are weary of being too close to nature, do not worry. We did have some tiny frogs and lizards in our room, but never in our bed! There is a net surrounding the bed and the staff uses incense to keep most other things away. We will definitely come back to stay in the future!

What an incredibly beautiful place!

What a beautiful and amazing place to stay! The hotel is set in the most beautiful lush grounds, with humming birds, stunning flowers and trees brimming with fruit everywhere. Everyone we met, who works at the hotel, was delightful. They all made our stay a complete joy. Caroline in conceirge was so knowledgeable and a complete ray of sunshine. She has been 37 years at the hotel which says it all. Ray the gardener gave me a tour of the grounds. He is so passionate about his work and plans for the garden. The view from our room was incredible. The food was delish!!! Come stay here. It’s amazing.

Stunning Nature Resort!!!

We loved our stay at Ladera!! The views are unbelievable and the grounds are beautiful. Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. We ate local a couple times, Dasheen at Ladera was definitely our favorite meal of the trip. Location is great!!! We were close to everything we wanted to do and concierge ordered taxis which made getting around very easy. The onsite trail is beautiful. The only downside is the bugs. We expected it being open air but we left covered (I think ant bites). Ladera does everything they can to keep the bugs away but it’s inevitable. It didn’t take away from the experience for us at all, just something to note! Overall an unforgettable experience.

Serenity wrapped up in a breathtaking location and thoughtful experience

My husband and I visited Saint Lucia for the first time and decided to stay at Ladera as a "once in a lifetime" kind of experience. It delivered! Everything at the resort has been handcrafted to achieve a perfect harmony between luxury and nature. A few things that made it stand out: 1. Location. You can't beat the uninterrupted views of the Pitons since the resort is directly on the World Heritage Site. It's one of those rare cases where photos don't do it justice - you need to see it to believe it! The resort is also a short shuttle ride to Sugar Beach or cab ride to some of the most popular attractions and restaurants in Soufriere. Boat excursions and water taxis also make travel to other parts of the island much quicker if you're looking to venture out further. 2. Staff. Everyone working at the resort is so kind and helpful. I highly recommend striking up a conversation with anyone and everyone. We chatted with a groundskeeper (did not catch his name) about hummingbirds and tattoos, and Jeremy the bartender about rum and basically every other topic under the sun. I laughed with Tanisha the receptionist, who has an exceptionally warm personality. And we have to especially shout out Vianney, who greeted us with our breakfast every morning and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted for the day. He really made us feel like family. 3. Food and culture. The resort offers both authentic Saint Lucian/Creole/Caribbean fare and more "American" options. You can be as adventurous as you want. I highly recommend the fresh fruit plate to accompany your breakfast; the fruit is so much fresher and more flavorful than what we're used to in the U.S. The lunch menu was our favorite, so we made sure to eat lunch at the resort most days. Dinner was good but not exceptional, so we ventured out to other nearby restaurants, which we found rewarding. We did do an in-room dinner from Dasheene one night and I would highly recommend that experience. They set up our table beautifully and gave us the same level of service as if we were in the restaurant. Highly recommend trying the chocolate mousse and the chocolate lava cake for dessert! We had just a couple of areas where we could offer constructive feedback: 1. Bug bites, not sure what kind. We expected this to a certain degree given the open concept, but we both left with about 20 bites each despite using the bug spray provided every day. Other couples we spoke to didn't seem to have an issue, so maybe it was particular to our location/suite (Heritage Suite C). In any case, I'd recommend bringing some DEET-powered spray just in case it becomes an issue for you. 2. The sun is very strong, and shade was sometimes hard to come by. In our particular suite, the lounge chairs were exposed to the sun almost all day, so it would have helped to have an umbrella. There was plenty of shade elsewhere in our room, it just would have been nice to be able to lounge by our in-suite pool more. Also it would help for the umbrellas by the main pool area to be adjustable or movable as the sun shifts. Neither of these things took away from us having an AMAZING experience, just slight fleeting moments when we could have been a bit more sheltered from the elements. Overall, we would highly recommend a stay at Ladera and hope to return ourselves one day instead of it truly being "once in a lifetime." :)

Unforgettable Resort

Our stay at Ladera Resort for our honeymoon was wonderful. The stunning view of the Pitons and Caribbean Sea from our Paradise Ridge Suite was absolutely breathtaking. Our private plunge pool made it the perfect spot to relax and take in the scenery. The bulter team and staff were exceptional and truly took care of anything we needed. In addition, the meals at the Dasheene Restaurant were delicious. Ladera offers a perfect mix of relaxation and activity with the excursion offerings.

My boyfriend and I spent a week at Ladera Resort in St. Lucia, West Indies, this past October. It is a beautiful resort with incredibly attentive and friendly staff. I would like to specifically mention Chef Orlando Satchell. He made an already special stay at Ladera even more wonderful. The room we stayed in was utterly incredible. The view of the ocean flanked by the Pitons, with the moon casting a path on the sea below was magic. It was an incredibly romantic, relaxing vacation which neither one of us wanted to end.
