Ladera Resort

Probably the most beautiful place my husband and I will ever stay at! The people are so friendly, welcoming, the breakfast each morning was amazing. We took the on property hike and saw amazing views of the pitons, explored the treehouse, took the shuttle down to the beautiful Sugar Beach, had an amazing spa day at leve, and enjoyed the other amenities like the saunas. There was one morning, after a huge rainstorm, we found a kitten in our room! Don’t know where she came from, but she made it such a memorable and special trip for us! Downsides: 1.) The turn down services would come an hour or two after what was scheduled, and the one night we skipped turn down services (because it was 8:30 and we were about to sleep), we got eaten alive!! Which I guess comes with the territory when it is open concept. 2.) I wish we stayed longer!!!

Everything about this trip was amazing. We stayed in a Hilltop suite and had the best view and experience. They do their best to space out the guests to foster a sense of privacy and quietness. The staff was always ready to assist regardless of the hour and would know when you were out in order to come by and perform turndown service.

4 STARS IS A 2 STAR OVER CALCULATION: To protect your hard earned money, do not give away over $2000 per night at Ladera. HERE'S WHY: Unfortunately, the plunge pool room at ladera is filthy, outdated, and a mismatch of furnishings. The poster bed is nice. The rest of the furnishings and flooring are a mix and match of fire sale goods and stained unclean tile flooring and wordworking. There's no communicating, no coming together of design elements. The sliding glass doors do not function properly as they likely need repair and clean rails. Impossible to open all the way. There are dead bugs and lots of dust on windows sills. The wood blinds look as though not cleaned in decades. Not to mention getting bit by bugs every night. Certainly, the view is incredible so there is great value in the beauty. But i conclude the room should live up to the view. The breakfast is included but it is awful. It was never served hot or even luke warm. The fruit was unripe. The pastries, well, 2nd rate would be too generous. The dinners were not warm either and the cost will blow you away.... or maybe you wish to be blown away to another resort. The landscaping is in keeping with other failings. There are piles of dead brush everywhere, mud along the walk ways, and no added value to the natural scape. Other than the view and the working people, the resort is living off its laurels without a significant investment to even achieve 4 stars. The people were kind and tried to make up for the lack of proper investment. The pictures of the room speak for themselves.

Dinner was great, the staff were very professional and friendly, the food was great, drinks were great everything was 10/10, I would like to give a special shout out too Miss Cynthia, she kept checking on us and making sure that everything was going smoothly, If anyone is looking to visit I would highly recommend having her as your waitress. Will definitely be coming again
