Iberostar Joia was such an amazing TRIP! Get the Butler service and massage. When I say the attention to detail is unmatched. Thank you for making this Birthday Solo trip amazing. I will like to shout out Christopher and crew on the 3rd floor for making me feel taking care of; I will definitely be back to visit. Thank you for paying attending to details, the cake and champagne made the trip even better. Beautiful facility, the food is truly good every where on the resort. The people that dedicate their time and love to the resort is showcased with such dignity and pride for their country. I am so happy I was able to spend this weekend at Joia Rose Hall by Iberostar. Thank you the staff and my awesome Travel agents (White Sand Travel) for booking this trip.

We loved this hotel, weather was great and beach and pool were superb. The butler experience was new to us and the service was fantastic - thanks Kadeen and Ralston. They made things very easy for us. All staff were great, polite and nothing was too much trouble.

Me and my wife arrived here on Wednesday 11th September, it is now Sunday and I want to go home alreadand I have another 9 days to navigate. Upon arrival our room wasn’t ready so had to wait 30 minutes when we got our room it was a nice clean room but the balcony had loose wooden tiles which had lifted, this was a accident waiting to happen so went back to reception and got offered a room change, we viewed 4 different rooms and each one had a fault, we ended up staying at our initial room where the tiles had been replaced. The food options here are terrible we stayed here same time last year and the buffet was open 4 nights so we worked round that, this year our first week the buffet was only once in 7 days for the evening and the second week 3 times, this evening we decided to go next door to the suites for buffet and to our surprise it is closed for refurbishment so went to the waves buffet and it was terrible absolutely nothing worth eating, and considering we are adults only we shouldn’t be going there in the first place, the first night we had room service which was hot and ok, second night hibachi which was ok, 3rd night the French which was good but tonight our 4th night we are now starving because we have limited options. The room we have is nice everything works and it’s clean, bed is comfortable. The beach and pools are ok the staff are ok and the coffee shop is good. This is my 10th time in Jamaica and I have proper felt out of love with it and don’t think I will be returning, if you are thinking of coming here and would really think about changing because it’s not what it says in the description and I will be getting a full refund upon my return to the uk.

After arriving at the "resort", we were greeted by the staff in a warm and friendly manner but the vibes were off. We couldn't put our finger on it initially, but it became clear over the next few days. The staff try to get you into a sales trap by pushing for a "membership" to Iberostar. They have a whole sales team (who are poorly trained) who try to sweet talk you into purchasing this membership by showing you around the grounds. The salespeople become rude and distant as soon as you refuse the membership. Then they have someone come and ask you if you felt pressured during the sales "presentation." It's not pressure but it is a poorly executed presentation. The grounds aren't as pristine as the pictures would lead you to believe. The building's smell of mold and moisture which is par for the course at most resorts but for some reason this place smelled a little more ripe. Which in turn caused the staff to add more of that resort diffuser scent to the hallways. That was nauseating. All said, this resort wasn't what it was painted out to be. I have no desire to ever return to Jamaica based this experience. I will say that the wait staff at the restaurants were amazing and so were the bar staff at the pool. The Cuban activities coordinator and his staff were also great. There are so many other islands and resorts in the world and I will choose to spend my money elsewhere in the future. This resort unfortunately missed the mark in so many ways. I don’t know how people can honestly give them a glowing review.
