Edgewood Tahoe Resort

Restaurant staff were rude and surly. Had to wait 45 min for a table and after that, another 1 hr and 15 min before we were served food or drink Room had a defective shower that was not fixed Could not get e receipt for our stay. I believe that we were overcharged The setting was the best part of our experience

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Edgewood. From the fantastic location right on the lake to the professional and friendly staff, the spa facilities and our beautiful room, we were more than happy with our visit. We also used the concierge for transport to and from the airport and Tom was flexible and responsive. We were close to many activities including a snow mobile tour that provided pick up and drop off at the lodge. The bistro and grill were excellent with friendly and attentive staff and the employees of the lodge were super nice and always available when needed.

The property has a great location, and the bellmen and ski staff were excellent. However, the service overall did not meet 5-star standards: - Our room wasn’t ready at 4 PM, and we had to wait 30 minutes with no compensation. - The food from the Bistro was disappointing—cold fries and mediocre sandwiches. - At the Bistro reservation desk, we were told we could book Brook’s restaurant there anytime. When we returned the next day, another staff member said she couldn’t book it because she didn’t have access. We then went to the concierge, who initially claimed the restaurant wiil be fully booked. After we pushed, she suddenly found an available table and booked it for us. - When we asked for the Spa at the concierge next day, we were told right away they won't have any spots available, without even checking. - At the Bistro bar, my partner was asked for ID if he wants to sit at the bar (he looks young, so fair enough), but we noticed teenage kids sitting at the bar. It felt like we were treated differently. - More "can do" attitude would be welcomed, rather than starting with what's not possible. For a 5-star resort, I expect consistency and professionalism across the board.

This property is a little off the path and gives a little more privacy to those willing to pay for it. My family vacations a lot, and we are used to large and private properties. This one is exceptional, especially in a city like South Tahoe. People here are super cool, very relaxed and food is great. Lots of choices here. Edgewood is exceptional in their customer service. We felt very spoiled, and we will be back! Highly recommend! A special thanks to Katie, who was our Concierge and made our trip even more special!
