Reviews for The Lodge at Spruce Peak

A remarkable balance.

The smoothness of the check in experience and the helpfulness of the staff was truly outstanding. The lobby space and hotel in general managed to be upscale and beautiful, yet casual and family friendly. The staff were, without exception, friendly and polite.

Great east coast ski resort feels like Vail

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

The Lodge is a beautiful, well maintained, cozy property in a terrific location. Great access to the mountain and various stores and restaurants. The lobby is beautiful and there is free coffee service in the morning. The fireplaces in the lobby were generally started burning early in the morning so a great place to sit and relax. The gas fireplace in the second smaller lobby wasn't working. The Tipsy trout restaurant on site though was a bit overpriced. A cosmopolitan drink was $28.00 and the lobster pot pie did not have much visible lobster. Our traveling companions had better experience with the grilled octopus and a poke bowl. The oysters were expensive but delicious. Also, if you order ice cream for the kids the scoops are very small. The chocolate fodue dessert in the Alpine room though looked amazing!

Perfect Skiing Vacation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I wanted to take a moment to share the amazing experience that we had at The Lodge at Spruce Peak. I want to thank Diane for all her assistance with our pre-arrival arrangements, reservations, and recommendations. Her guidance was invaluable in helping us coordinate the perfect vacation. We absolutely fell in love with the hotel, the resort, and, most of all, the wonderful people we encountered. We had an amazing time as a family, filled with fun moments, opportunities to disconnect, and plenty of rest. The room was perfect for our needs—spacious, well-located, and with every amenity we could ask for. One of the aspects I loved the most was the convenience and accessibility of everything: the hotel, rentals, ski valet, classes, ice rink, restaurants, and the mountains were all within easy reach. It was truly perfect! The level of service provided by everyone was exceptional. A special shoutout to the restaurant team, including the host, the Restaurant Manager, the Supervisor, and the servers: Ricardo, Emily, Shaneque, Jack, Cailah, Natali, and Kurt. The food was excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the short ribs—my favorite dish. Please extend my kudos to the chefs and cooks! In terms of transportation, Neill Transportation recommended by the hotel and his brother Jamelle provided outstanding service—always responsible and punctual. Elaine from Stowe Mountain Concierge also went above and beyond, ensuring our groceries were in the room upon our arrival. Our experience with the snowmobiles was fantastic, and we used Neill's transportation for both drop-off and pick-up. Additionally, the brewery tour with 4 Points, also recommended by the hotel and our guide, Marina, was an absolute highlight. Her knowledge, personality and enthusiasm made the experience truly memorable. At the resort, the ski instructors Robin and Russ stood out for their expertise and excellent teaching abilities. They were patient and made the lessons enjoyable and informative. Beyond the hotel, the staff at the mountains, lifts, stores, and restaurants were all friendly and welcoming. It was clear that everyone took pride in their work and genuinely cared about providing a great guest experience. I sincerely hope to return next year because we truly loved our time there. I recommend the hotel and resort for a perfect skiing vacation. Thank you once again for making our stay so memorable!

Great hotel! Excellent product, excellent staff. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are attentive and courteous. The food was very good as was the beverage selection and service in the speakeasy. The hotel is perfectly located and has lots of things to do.

Great location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

It’s a beautiful location and the resort is very clean. The staff can be dismissive of concerns (pot smoking 2 doors down) and somewhat negligent. Valet put our SUV in 4WD and didn’t tell us. We drove 100 miles before we noticed. It had snowed but road conditions didn’t require 4WD so we didn’t even think to check. We’ve stayed at other ski in/out resorts out west (most recently, St Regis Deer Valley) and you can tell that they’re trying to emulate but coming up very short. The dining options are mediocre. Some of the staff are rude and some are wonderful. That being said, you can’t beat the location and that’s what you’re paying for. Take away the skiing and it’s a 3-star experience.
