For those who seek excitement while savoring absolute privacy, Nihi Sumba Island is a singular retreat that resides in splendid isolation 400 kilometers east of Bali on the Indonesian Archipelago. Hidden on a secluded bay on the remote southwestern coast of Sumba Island, it offers just six bungalows and two villas, thatch-roofed and hand-built in contemporary Indonesian style by local craftsmen. Acres of dense tropical forest, rice terraces and grasslands add to the luxury that lives in harmony with the Sumbanese people and their island culture.

NIHI the best
Great services from the airport all the way to the hotel. Everything were taken care of from checkin to hotel. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were free (included) so you don't have to worry. The room is clean and very nice. We love the plunge pool. Room service is 2-times a day. Any room service request was handled within minutes. Just the best experience ever.

wondeful experience
simply wonderful. The location is unique, the service exceptional and all the experiences fabulous. Seeing the horses run on the beach or taking a bath with them is brutal.Even if you are not a surfer, it is a highly recommended hotel. For surfers it is already the best.

Unforgettable
Everything about the experience was exceptional—the stunning rooms, breathtaking beach, delicious food, and outstanding service. However, I was genuinely pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere of the hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I believe this positive environment contributes significantly to the relaxed and laid-back vibe that makes the stay even more enjoyable. The excursion to Lapopu Waterfall was a highlight as well. I’ve seen many waterfalls in my life, but this one was truly spectacular. We were fortunate enough to be the only visitors there, along with another couple from the hotel. Additionally, I found the concept of the spa safari to be magical and unforgettable.

Amazing vacation at Nihi Sumba
Just finished one of the most amazing weeks in my life with my family at Nihi Sumba. The place a piece of heaven. My wife, my kids and myself didn’t stop to say WOW. From the view, through the architecture, the service, the warm people, the food, the drinks, the vibe every “happy hour” :) to every detail that being taken care at the Nihi system. It was amazing.
