Reviews for The Fullerton Hotel Sydney

Great location, comfortable but tired rooms, suits guests who don't want interaction with staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

The room: We stay at the Fullerton when in Sydney as its location is convenient to us, and have stayed in different types of room. Each one has been comfortable and, like the previous rooms, this room was showing its age: - The carpet/rug is worn. - The drawers of the cupboard that houses the fridge have dropped so are tricky to close. - The taps for the bathroom sink are a bit tricky. With the room we stayed in this time you had to turn the hot tap considerably before water came out. However, with this room the water did not spurt everywhere like in a previous room we've had. An attempt to seal around the tap had been made which was probably why it didn't spurt too much. Noticeably, the sealant job was very roughly done - looked like a DIY job. The staff members: Seems like staff members only acknowledge you if you say something first. Would be nice to be greeted especially when going in and out of the main entrance.

Best hotel !!!

Fantastic hotel! It’s the only place we stay when visiting Sydney three times a year The staff are brilliant, always friendly and very helpful. The hotel is so clean and we have always enjoyed the lovely smell upon entering the hotel. Cocktails in the bar downstairs after a night out is always good. Never ever would we stay anywhere else.

Beautifully restored GPO building has created a fabulous 5 star hotel

Travelled to Sydney go to a concert at City Recital Hall which is 3 minutes walk away. Great location and beautiful hotel. Heritage room had great period charm but also discreetly included modern tech. Very comfortable. Used the Endota spa which was excellent. Highlight is the staff who are warm, friendly and efficient. The hotel needs more staff at the front desk during busy checkin time. The two working were run off their feet. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.

A gem of a hotel in a perfect location

Wow! From the moment I arrived to when I departed 4 days later, I had the most amazing stay! Curtis and the lobby staff treated each guest as royalty and were always attentive to our needs. Liam at the checkin desk was pleasant, informative, and extremely knowledgeable. I arrived early from a cruise, and Liam kept me informed of an expected time my room would be ready, and then he took the time to provide info and a map of the area. He went even further by asking my sightseeing plans and then providing details on how to get to and around each location (again, showing me on the map)! Both Liam and Curtis spoke to me by name every time I passed through the lobby. Talk about hospitality! The hotel is located on a heritage (historic) site, the old General Post Office, and they I’d a remarkable job of blending the old with the new. The rooms are wonderfully modern, with a beautiful view and all the comforts one would expect in a hotel of this caliber. The executive club lounge has a hearty breakfast buffet, and a good selection of pre-dinner food and beverages. J. Zapatista in the executive lounge was very welcoming every evening and even remembered my preferred beverage! I encourage everyone to take the hotel’s GPO Heritage Tour that is offered twice daily. It is very informative.

A great heritage experience.

The heritage room was very impressive, large and relaxing. The staff tried hard but needed a bit of guidance to ensure we received all the inclusions in our package. The Heritage guided tour was very interesting and the included High Tea was outstanding. Very clean and great location close to public transport, shopping, harbour and entertainment. The main hotel area is naturally lit, spacious and a great area to meet up.
