The Fullerton Hotel Sydney

I’d think twice about booking this hotel Just last weekend we had a room booked on arriving at 2pm we where told the room was not ready so we left our bags with reception and they said they would call us when the room was ready !! At 415pm we finally received a text on what’s app saying your room is ready we proceeded to check in where Told our bags where already in the room We got to the room no bags we called reception 3 times and where promised there on the way finally went down to reception to see 3 other couples Arguing with reception in the same boat as us eventually the manger located our bags at 630pm we had paid extra to use the club lounge So after all the issues we went up to the club lounge to be told there is no seats available and that they would call our room when seats where available an absolute terrible experience and we have not even had a member off staff reach out with an apology or explanation this use to be a good hotel But has clearly let its standards slip !!

It's a big hotel with decent amenity. We like the fit out of the rooms and the atrium is a beautiful place to dine in for breakfast. It's a convenient location if you are doing things in the CBD eg it's near museums and easy walking distance to the Botanic gardens

I stayed here twice this month (before and after a cruise). I travel a lot and this hotel ticked most of the boxes. Great room, excellent location etc. However, a lot remains to be desired about the bill. As anticipated, I gave the hotel the authority to charge $1.00 to my credit card upon checking in. However, despite numerous requests, the hotel so far has ignored my requests for an itemised bill on both stays. I requested it both at checkout ( response: we will email you) and then again through their website. The little thing that irates me, is that they charged the $1.00 to my final bill. What is a dollar you may ask. Honestly, it’s nothing on a $2,000 stay, however I find it sneaky that they charge the holding deposit to the final bill. Normally, the holding deposit gets dropped one the final bill is issued. I can already see the ‘rolling eyes’ on this review, but to me it’s a matter of principle. Why add the dollar to the bill and why won’t you provide the bill upon numerous requests. I understand the economics: this little trick would constitute to almost $100,000 a year, however to me it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I would definitely recommend this hotel on comfort and location, but question the necessity for this little rip-off.

We had desert and cocktails at The Bar in the lobby of the Fullerton Hotel. The cocktail was wonderful but the deserts were devine. We had the flourless chocolate mousse cake and a summer trifle. Yum! The service was fantastic and the staff were friendly.
