Booked two nights, upgraded to Fabulous suites facing Taipei 101 on the 23rd floor using NUAs. From check in to check out, the W delivered on the W brand, with cool, fresh vibe. Room: gorgeous. All the modern amenities including a wireless Bluetooth speaker, partition between the sleeping and living area, mechanized blinds and shears for all the floor to ceiling windows. Bed was wonderful and the sheets heavenly. Shower pressure was awesome. Didn’t get a chance to use the tub but wish we did. Gym: W hotels are known for outstanding fitness and spa facilities - Taipei was no exception. We received a $125 luxury experience credit, which we applied towards a 60-minute massage, which was excellent. The elite amenities at the Taipei W are generous. One of them is a free cocktail between 5-7pm at WooBar on the 10th floor. The bar actually opens up to the pool but due to the cold weather the pool was closed. They had a DJ spinning tunes…it was a nice vibe. Location: as noted, the W is within walking distance of Taipei 101, and is actually connected by a system of pedestrian walkways and shopping malls (Breeze, etc) all the way down to Taipei 101. Despite the rainy weather while we were there, we were able to use those walkways to explore many stores and stay dry. Very convenient. Everyone was polite, solicitous of our needs, and spoke good English (although I speak Mandarin). A really fantastic stay we wish could have been longer. Cannot wait for our next trip to Taipei.

I am usually a little worried about hotels that cater to the young and hip crowd - sometimes you feel the staff thinks they are too cool to deal with you. It was not the case here. Everyone was super nice and helpful! This is one of the most expensive Marriott branded hotels in Taipei. We gave it a try since it had a low-rate week, probably because business travellers avoid the Chinese New Year weeks. The hotel's location is perfect if you want to explore the Xin-Yi District of Taipei - from the Taipei 101 to shopping to weekend street buskers to bars... it is basically on top of the Blue Metro Line - you can access it through the department store when it is open. Very helpful when the weather is bad/hot. From the first floor lobby, front desk, to housekeeping, to the restaurants to the gym, everyone was helpful and thoughtful. Contrary to some reviews and probably because it was a slow week, we were upgraded to a suite. It was very nice and has some gadgets like Bluetooth based speakers to play your music. The only strange thing was the sink at the powder room. It reminded me of the new crammed lavatory sinks on some 737s. You really can't wash your hands without having the water splashed all over. There is no executive lounge - I have not stayed in a W that had an executive lounge. Breakfast is served on the 31st floor. It has everything you would expect. It does get busy. I am too rational to think I will blow my money / points to stay here regularly. However, definitely a great choice if you are willing to pay the price.

Pleasant stay. Staff nice and helpful. However, there were lack of communication between the ground staff that takes away the lustre. Upon our arrival, the check-in reception staff could not find our reservation when I presented my passport, this is despite multiple communications via email and booking spa, limo transfers services via emails. It is only until I show the booking on the app and then searching by reservation number can the reservation be found. Another instance is our late checkout was approved on the app chat but the ground staff (cleaning staff) did not know. Concierge service when we try to utilize it, appears tired and lack interest. The one day we use the breakfast, food selection and quality is average at best and service would be rated below average. The bell service is very good and handled our luggage well. The location is marvelous and very convenient. The hotel is newly renovated towards the end of 2024 and we like the new look and feel of the hotel. Spa service at this hotel I would rate it below par compared to other Asian hotels. View from our room was great as we have a full view of the Taipei 101.

Large modern room, new, clean and full amenities Staff are friendly and helpful Location is great and connected to a new shopping mall Great variety for breakfast and high quality of food Bed is comfy and I like the window side sofa where you can relax under the sun 夠洋氣 and 陽氣 - which is quite important in Taiwan if you know what I mean ;)

This may be a little harsh, because there are good things about this hotel. It is nice and clean and centrally located. But I just wanted to flag that the marvelous suite is a nice room, just not a suite. There is no true separation between living area and sleeping area. It is better to get simply two rooms adjoining. We have a young one and having a separate sleeping area allows us to not have to end the night at kid’s bedtime… Lesson learned.
