The Tampa EDITION

We enjoyed our stay at the Edition for 2 nights. We had a lovely, cozy room. Staff were nice. However the hotel is not well managed. 1. Called for a wake up call. No one responded on the phone twice. So went downstairs and asked personally. 2. However no one called us as requested to wake us up. 3. At breakfast we were told we needed to wait 10 minutes by the receptionist and that we could go to the take out cafe a few yards away, if we did not want to wait, When we were informed we could not get toast, we returned to the receptionist. Fortunately the Manager was there and offered us a table immediately. There were many tables available. 4. Toast was served with no plates. When we asked we were only offered one plate. Had to request a second plate. 5. No teaspoons on both days for our coffee to put sugar. When we asked we were offered large table spoons, 6. Went to roof top pool at 10;15 AM. They were cleaning and was told by attendant that he thought the pool was "closed." I responded that the pool was open between sunrise and sunset. So he let us use the pool. 7. I asked for towels. Was told he would come and set up the chairs. I explained I only needed towels as we wanted to swim and return to our room. He responded he wanted to offer us a luxurious experience. I then responded we did not need a luxurious experience. 8. At check out the bill did not include a soda we had drank two days before. In most hotels they check the bar every morning. Clearly they don't bother. When I explained it was a small grapefruit soda. the check out Agent was unable to find it. Said he would charge me later and E mail me with the charge. These problems were "minor" but it gives the impression the staff are not well trained. We still enjoyed our stay and have no regrets. Our room had a view of an office building. If one wants a view it costs about $100 to $200 more a night.

Being from Tampa, we did a Staycation at the Edition. We had been to several places at Water street but hadn't stayed at the Edition. Got upgraded to a suite via American Express Platinum. It was gigantic and beautiful. Bathroom included a tub. Brunch at The Market was delicious, along with the fried chicken at Azure, which was a huge meal. We had drinks at all the bars onsite, it's priced as you'd expect for a hotel in this price range but we enjoyed the drinks and atmosphere. The pool it beautiful, the offer lunch which I believe is from Azure. Either way, the wraps are good, their humus is the BEST.

This Tampa hotel is full on five stars. The front desk staff especially Alicia were professional and wonderful. The valet quick and efficient and the restaurant staff from the hostess to Katie were awesome. The location is perfect in downtown Tampa. The room are spacious and super clean. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone visiting Tampa

This hotel scores in every category. Beautiful guest room and baths (spacious and very refined decor), comfortable beds and a great housekeeping team, great location and not overpriced. But it is the public spaces that take it from a 5 star to a 10. The Lilac restaurant and its prix fixe menu is worth every Michelin star. Delicious menu and preparation and flawless service. The Azure rooftop restaurant is beyond delicious and the rooftop pool area is a Mediterranean dream. Cam made our stay with her brand of attentive and friendly service. Kyle made our drinks (as did the fun Punch Room) we came back every one of the three days we were in Tampa for business. Great gym (great). Great everything. The Edition made it a pleasure to be here.

We loved this place! Akira did our check in and she was wonderful! She was very sweet and attentive. She gave us an amazing suite, beautiful room, the decor in this place is unbelivable. Everything is so cozy and warm, just perfect. Gabriel brought our luggage and did a room tour, always smiling and very helpful. Service was great in every area, we had dinner at azure and breakfast at the market. Breakfast was great just a few notes to do, the butter croissant was extremely oily and the bagel was not fresh, it was hard to eat and you could see the white texture when eating. However overall was a great experience and we would recommend it! The pool area Is also beautiful.
