Reviews for La Plage Resort

Stunning

La Plage Resort in Taormina is truly a special place. The location right by Isola Bella is absolutely breathtaking – you wake up with the sound of the waves and a stunning sea view right outside your door. The bungalows are cozy, beautifully designed, and give you a real sense of privacy and relaxation. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the staff. Everyone is genuinely warm, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. From the front desk to the beach service, you can tell they care about making your stay perfect. They go above and beyond – whether it’s recommending local spots, organizing trips, or just checking in to make sure you’re having a great time. The breakfast is another highlight – fresh, delicious, and served with a gorgeous view over the water. If you’re looking for a luxurious yet laid-back getaway with exceptional service, La Plage Resort is the perfect choice.

I tried to have a relaxing corona on the terrace and they would simply not let me and my gf sit on any other seating arrangements apart from the ones they had in the full sun because all the others in the shade were apparently for 4 people. This is mind you at 12:00 with an absolutely empty terrace. The person working came back all the way to the corner table I took to tell me I can’t be with my gf in a table with 4 chairs. If you want to ruin a relaxing day, come here.

We are currently staying here having arrived last night. THIS IS NOT A 5-STAT HOTEL AS ADVERTISED. -room is tiny, dark, cramped, claustrophobic, with basically no windows and no light. Like a dungeon. There is no sea view- no view at all, unless you walk outside (photos below- the “sea view” is beyond that door, no window to open or even look!). There is no space or proper light to get ready and do your makeup. The room is horribly dated, smells musty, has old wooden furniture. I have a headache from the smell and lack of air over overnight. The wifi doesn’t work. Cheap toiletries. Raggedy towels (see photo). There is nothing that would ever make you think this is a 5-star. -we are here celebrating my birthday which is today. Other hotels (esp. 5-stars!) always acknowledge this upon check-in and offer some nice welcome or perk- nothing here! -we were told at check-in that we have a specific beach chair reserved for us. 😂 We have not seen this anywhere in the world and don’t want to be told where to sit and enjoy the beach. Usually, people want to make that choice themselves! -no one to assist with bags from the parking lot down. -any food here is a letdown. Lunch at the beach bar included old fries, hard rolls, stale cookies. -BEWARE of booking the Partial Sea View room as it has no view at all (see photos). When we asked the Front Desk Manager about it he said, "There is a view- OUTSIDE”. 😂 These are not serious people. The General Manager is similarly not equipped to handle customers and should visit a 5-star to see what it looks like. A customer shouldn’t be wasting time on vacation going back and forth about the standard here. A General Manager should have a thick skin and not view complaints as quote “offensive and accusatory”.- Comedy! -finally, it is actually offensive to lure people into this place by claiming it is a 5-star hotel. It is offensive to market a room as “partial sea view” then state that this means “outside of the room”. It is offensive to put someone in a dark, musty dungeon. It is offensive to give customers dirty towels which are falling apart. It is offensive to serve old leftovers for breakfast. It is offensive not to properly handle customer complaints and feedback, and instead act like a toddler whose feelings have been hurt.

Showering with faeces

Me and my husband have just returned from a 5 day stay at la plage resort! Even though we had a great time in Sicily I feel compelled to let people know of our experience. On the first morning of our stay I took a shower and it was making really weird gurgling noises and the shower drain cover rose up and faeces was floating at my feet whilst I was showering! I was obviously disgusted by this and told someone at reception! They didn’t seem that bothered and just said we will send someone to look, with no apology, it seemed like this was a normal thing to happen which is totally unhygienic and gross. Also one evening I accidentally spilt some Pepsi on the bed sheets which left noticeable quite large brown patches, house keeping came and tidied our room and changed our sheets (or so we thought) as the next day we were due to leave and I checked the room to see if we had left any belongings before we left. We were shocked to see the same brown patches, they basically turned the bed sheets over and we were sleeping in dirty covers, this is totally unacceptable for a 5 star resort and left us feeling disappointed by the level of cleanliness and also the lack of compensation for showering in faeces which ruined our whole experience of la plage resort.
