Save your money. Overall disappointed with our 2 night stay. Contrary to how it was described, our room was not newly renovated. The decor is dated at best. The first night our room was worse than a sauna. Second night no heat at all. There is no information in the room. Expected something that liste information about restaurants, amenities, things to do in the area...possibly a menu for room service. The grounds are difficult to navigate due to either poor or non existing lighting. This is especially a concern while trekking from the (not free) parking lot to our room. I was very concerned that the main doors to our hotel did not close, forcing you to scan your room key. I overheard the reception area worker tell another guest that they didn't close/lock because they had onsite security. Hardly believable as we saw no one the numerous times we walked outside and to our cars. We felt $63.00 for breakfast was a bit outrageous and certainly not nearly worth the spend. Also outrageous was the 20.00 resort fee. When asked, I was told this was for the use of the pool, basketball court (its 12/1, we didn't use either) and "free parking". If you a charging a fee it is not free. I have stayed many many places domestically and internationally and have not been charged to use the pool, etc. Like I said, completely dissatisfied with this stay.

It’s an antique estate, and it’s beautiful! The check in process was prompt and easy. Received a complementary breakfast buffet for my cousin and I due my birthday. The rooms are clean, very large (2 dbl/king sz beds), bathroom has sink outside which is nice and convenient when you are sharing your room with friends/family and although it feels a bit stuffy from being an antique estate and decor is a bit outdated inside the rooms, the bed was comfortable and the amenities are worth the stay. Place has an indoor pool, many racket sport courts, bacce ball, 2 restaurants, lawn court with chairs, plenty of free parking and beautiful fall grounds. The parking lot is hilly so if you have mobility issues I’d recommend valet parking your car. The hotel is centrally located just few minutes from sleepy hollow Main Street. I’d recommend it!

We arrived after dark and in the rain. Our room was in the atrium. We were told to park in Lot 1 and walk. The grounds are difficilt to navigate in the dark, as no signs are illuminated (they should be.) The steps from the lot are not lit. It took us a while, dragging our luggage in the rain, to find it. No elevator. The room is dated; it looks like it hasnt been touched since 1980. There was hair on the bathroom wall (not just one.) I was so disappointed, after seeing how beautiful it is on the outside. My husband used the fitness center and said it was nice....but I had hoped for a room as pretty as the exterior.

Perfect halfway hotel between DC and Boston. I've stayed here twice with my young family (2 adults, 2 kids) on Thanksgiving return drives back to Boston. Great both times. Super friendly and comfortable, beautiful manicured grounds. And now, Goosefeather, which is the type of meal I would expect to get in either DC or Boston - but as a hotel restaurant! You know it's good when it seems to be destination dining for the locals. We enjoyed an excellent meal, retired to our room for some rest, and woke up early for the second leg of the trip. Totally recommend it.

Ok. So, my husband and I needed a dog-friendly hotel in the Lower Hudson Valley. We live in Los Angeles, used to live in NYC, and have roots in Atlanta and London so ... we've been around. For our specific needs (VERY limited dog-friendly options, even with airbnb) the Tarrytown Estate Hotel seemed to be our best option. After spending months of research, I have to admit that the negative reviews made me nervous. So much so that I packed my own coffee, towels, and sheets, as some users made it sound like an absolute fleabag. Ok, so the rooms aren't state-of-the-art, but we had a clean and comfortable stay that met our specific needs. Our stay coincided with TWO weddings on the property and staff still managed to make time for us. We aren't fans of Goosefeather (whose service was pretty snobbish and rude) so we did not spend much time there, but the location to Main Street Tarrytown is unbeatable for food ops. Speaking of food, yes, you have to pay for a buffet breakfast, but again: this hotel 100% met our needs and we were very pleased. (The takeaway option is a good deal, tbh.) We splurged one night of our 5-night stay and had a delightful view of the Hudson from a Mansion terrace room. Because I'd planned ahead, I knew to bring an additional charging hub to meet our needs in the Mansion space, which is beautiful but creaky. The rest of our trip was in the cottage rooms, where we'd brought a portable tea kettle because of the Keurig situation, BUT we found out that was totally unnecessary because coffee was also free in the morning at the beautiful Biddle Mansion. Our little fur baby loved this place. We loved the morning strolls. We loved the location. It was Halloween time and the river towns were bursting with festivities. We were very pleased with the hotel's overall customer service. (Thank you, Oralinda!!) And we even drove to Central Park West on a Sunday morning in less than 30 minutes. My husband and I aren't fussy folks, so maybe our standards aren't as high as those of others. We are used to making concessions like paying for breakfast and wonky rooms. But I really think people who book here need to understand that options are limited in the Lower Hudson Valley. You're not getting The Ritz or the Pierre. You're not getting New York City. You ARE getting a safe, clean place to stay, with delightful grounds in a spectacular stretch of countryside. Would/will stay again.
